Wait what??!! Mellow Mushroom Avondale didn't make this list? This is a bogus list. They have a Fire Truck and a Pin Wall for crying out loud. Everyone knows it's the most family friendly in town.

Sorry but I find Mellow Mushroom just as "okay" as the rest of the pizza places in Jax.  Just a yawner, albeit an expensive one. So I go to Papa Murphy's and pay less for better quality and 14 minutes inside my oven. it's baked to perfection.

I used to like Al's Pizza, but sadly in my opinion, it's not kept up with the flavor and quality demands of today's consumers.  Not to mention it's way overpriced.

Yep, my kids like nothing better than Captain Morgan Cheesecake or Amaretto Sour Ice Cream. Kidding.. don't have kids. Just sounded strange as I read a story about "family" restaurants and we're featuring ice cream with alcohol-based flavors. Not judging, just found it odd.

If you're going to include national chains, then why not McDonald's? Many of them have actual playgrounds. That's way more kid-friendly than a fire truck and a pin wall.

As are places like Chuck E Cheese's.

Yes! What happened to Al's Pizza? I remember how much I loved going there and then one day I realized that the pizza wasn't good . I was just eating the memory of good pizza.

I've never been to papa murphey, it sounds scary. Like ordering an uncooked dominos pizza.

Papa Murphy's isn't what I would call better quality than Mellow's?  It's better than a frozen pizza and most chain delivery pizzas, but to the level of Mellow or others in the hood is a huge stretch imo.

Mellow's pizza isn't my all time favorite, but I like their menu -- the bruschetta is pretty tasty.

I do not agree with choosing My Pie at all. It is nearly $10 for a mediocre small pizza. Any pizza place will put anything you want on top of the pizza?!? I much prefer V Pizza, Carmine's Pie House, Mama Q's and Picasso's.

A lot of their stuff is or can be blah, you have to know what to get. Certain things like the holy shiitake are ridiculous good.

What of Beach Road Chicken Dinner, Trent's Seafood, Potter's House Soul Food Bistro, Clark's, Whitey's?  So many more family places to list. Moon River for the win though. Still best pizza around with best staff. AND best MJ monster thread!

Trents, Clarke's, and Whitey's are nothing special food wise.  At least Whitey's outside deck and bar are nice and Clarke's has a gator pit to keep people entertained.

I was in Jax last week and took the opportunity to visit Mellow Mushroom. My three year old son loved the fire truck. We were lucky enough to get the booth in the truck, not that it mattered - he spent most of the time in the cab. Although I wasn't too impressed by the pizza, I would definitely recommend it for the fire truck.

What? Clark's hands down has the best prime rib in town. 3/4 of their menu is the typical fried stuff like any fish camp, for sure. But the prime rib just kills it dead, if you haven't tried it you're going to thank me.
