Tried going to the Renna's at the Town Center last weekend, sign on the door said they were relocating somewhere near Baymeadows and Southside.

...are the nominees for fastest breaker of St. Johns Town Center internet news...the envelope, please...and the winner is: I-10 east!!

Seriously I've heard stories from friends about how bad the traffic there is currently, but seeing the volume that was still there after the lunchtime rush, I don't want to think about what it would be after that last parcel with the new restaurants, apartments, and hotels get fully developed on top of Top Golf.

We knock the lack of leadership and unexplored potential on downtown as a knock on Jacksonville as a whole which is a mistake. But very few would have thought the Town Center development would be this successful and the city and region deserve a lot of credit for being able to support these businesses that had been tepid about entering Jacksonville for all these decades.

We all know the saying of the benefits of a rising tide and all boats...if downtown could just get a lot of its leaky fleets patched up...

Hopefully that's what is slowly but surely happening now. Slowly but surely isn't nearly fast enough for most of us but it is better than stagnation; I'll take it.
