It may get ugly with that week 2 matchup against Suh and Wake quickly approaching...

Jaguars' TE Julius Thomas expected to need surgery on tendon in his finger and is expected to miss 4-5 weeks, per source. 2nd opinion Tues.

I can't remember ever hearing a negative word about Josh Scobee.

Everyone I know who has interacted with him goes out of their way to praise what a funny, genuinely nice guy he is.

Seconded...with the possible exceptions of Dave Garrard and Joe Zelenka, I've never heard more universally positive accounts from fans on their interactions with a Jaguars player than I have about Scobee.  (I can cite personal experience too.)

Scobee is a douche.  The kind of person who complains about persecution of  Christians.  See ya.

Seriously..is there a way to mute someone on this site?
Put them on your Ignore list and the fools name will come up but not what they have said.

Please tell me there is another Longview player on the roster to help you out with your gameday FB feed.  Some of us need that in our life.

That revamped offensive line is gonna stone those two fishies.

I remember when Coughlin let Hollis go because of his salary demands (admittedly we were in cap hell due to Coughlin)  that didn't turn out to well, we had a horrendous kicking game that whole year.  Hopefully the new Kicker comes through.

A nice (and typical) Scobee story from Oehser's column today.

Ryan from Verner, WV:

I really hope you dedicate an O-Zone to Josh Scobee. Back in 2011, I tweeted Scobee to see if I could get an autograph. To my surprise he tweets me back and tells me where to send a ball, that it was no problem. He also tweets me back to tell him that it was on its way back. When I got the ball in the mail it had 28 signatures where he had also had other guys sign it for me. For a guy that has so much going on in the middle of the season to take the time and do that for me showed me that he cares about every fan and really seemed to be a great guy.

Scobee turns down a second year on his contract in respect to injured Suisham.

What a douche.

Unlike you all, i have played golf several times with Scobee (he's a friend of a friend). He is, in fact, a douche.  I couldn't honestly care less if you all agree with me or not.  Just look for his quotes around the 2012 election echoing Romney's comments about "takers" versus "makers". Hint: he and Romney would be fast friends.

So, he's a douche because of his conservative views on the welfare/tax system?

funwithteeth

I have absolutely nothing invested in this argument—I care nothing about the political beliefs of one of the several hundreds of people being paid to play football in the murderously corrupt NFL—but why should this entire chain of discussion rely entirely on the unfounded claims of a guy with a (misspelled) username taken from a shitty fucking band? He's a douche? There's a chance in some aspects of his life he is, but why is any of this important? For fuck's sake, if you're a football fan (and I assuming you are, typo guy), is this what you want to go to the mat on considering just about everything else that's terrible about this league?

funwithteeth

You could link me to several tweets supporting that Scobee may have reactionary beliefs and I wouldn't care. The NFL is guilty in far worse things than in giving money to some random asshole who has backwards views in the class system.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that MMR is TOOOOONS of fun to play golf with. Scobee sure must have had a blast.

Hmm, I've played golf with Scobee several times too.  He has never been anything but nice and funny.  Great guy.

He's never mentioned politics in front of me, nor have I seen anything politically egregious come from him elsewhere.  And I am pretty far from a conservative.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.
