Some fact checking on Palin's claims:

"I told Congress thanks but no thanks on that bridge to nowhere."
---note true. She actually lobbied for it, but eventually was against once it became a symbol of pork. She still kept the money, ear-marked for the project and used it on other spending projects.

"I put my private jet on eBay."
----not true. She sold it, at a large loss , on the private market

"I fired our personal chef."
---not true. He was transferred to another part of the state government.

All the teabaggers wil be there!

Shouldn't they be at the McCain rallies? If you think about it, McCain probably doesn't have any of his original teeth left, so I think the teabaggers would enjoy the soft, calming sensation of raw exposed gum on their flesh.

ooo ouch... :)
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

"Thanks for the warning.  I'll be sure not to go downtown that day.  Hopefully the Obama supporters wont leave too much litter in front of my building."

I think that is so funny! We do lots of neighborhood cleanups and we have invited both McCain's campaign and Obama's campaign to help get our community clean. Guess who is always willing to help with the community and pick up litter? OBAMA'S peeps!

I will be there, after our International Coastal Cleanup with Obama supporters!

Funny.  I wonder who is more likely to litter - McCain supporters or Obama supporters?  I think the answer is pretty obvious (Obama people).

Palin initially supported the project but Palin killed it in 2007 long before she was running for VP.  She had realized it was wasteful and unneeded.  Better to come around late than never.  Obama and Biden meanwhile voted for the Bridge to Nowhere and against a bill which would have shifted the funding to Katrina relief and New Orleans reconstruction.

You are just looking at the price paid for it minus the price it sold for.  Obviously it sold for less - it was used. What you are failing to consider is the savings in not having to pay to store it, for jet fuel, for maintenance and for a pilot.  Looking at the totality of the situation, this was a net savings to the taxpayers.

Source?  Also, even if he was transferred, a government position was eliminated thereby saving the taxpayers money.  Sorry, but your "fact checking" was not exactly consistent with the facts.   ;)

What happened to the money set aside for the bridge?  Did Alaska give it back so that it could fund more worthwhile projects somewhere else in the country?

nope...Alaska kept $200 million and is using it for other things...including still building the road that would have led to the bridge but no just dead ends!

The chef, Stefani Marnon was first reassigned as a "constituent relations assistant" in the governor's office and later to the state museum.

How interesting that on a thread about Obama's visit to Jax, there is more interest about discussing Governor Palin.

its almost like a joint McCain-Palin event...when people start leaving when she stops talking!

RiversideGator, could you please explain your comment? Some evidence? I just don't understand what you mean.

Treehuggers are a small percentage of the Obama constituency.  The more downscale supporters of Obama are decidedly more likely to litter.  Drive around town to confirm this.

If the answer is so obvious, why did you feel the need to tell us the answer?

Seriously?  You really want to stereotype?

So you are saying Obama supporters are nothing more than a bunch of downtrodden, sloppy poor people who are incapable of attending a political rally without throwing their trash all over the parks and streets before going home.

I guess you may be right.  Republican supporters have the advantage of neatly putting away their trash in their homes before driving away in them after a rally.

Poor urban neighborhoods are just as trashy as poor suburban neighborhoods.  Unfortunately, most republicans only think they are wealthy and thus they vote against their economic interests.  I have been to poor rural neighborhoods and I have sen the political yard signs that litter thier yards.  I also have seen the piles of trash, junk, old beat up cars, and large pick-up trucks that also litter their yards.

You may think everyone in your party is just as well-healed, neat and orderly as yourself, but unfortunately they are not.
