Having read the entire neanderthaler piece, I can only say that it would verify and confirm any concept I have of a supreme being.

Even in the book of Genesis, there are references to the daughters and sons of men in the valley that were unrelated to the Eve and Adam bloodline.

This has always been trotted out in defence of the apparent scriptural prescription for incest, were Adam and Eve the only beings created on Earth.

Its mostly untaught and no longer recognized despite the clarity of the reference for obvious reasons.  Every tribe and race of human in the judeo christian moslem world would be claiming sole rights of descent.

In any case, Ive always thought that the little hairless monkeys with their ridiculous constraints and rules by which they expect their creator to be bound----with absolutely no record of the creator agreeing to them to be a little obnoxious.

If God wants to screw around with different species for a few hundred thousand years of molding dna, then who in the hell are we to gainsay the prerogatives of the creator?

This, incidentally is the reasoning which caused the Pope to see no conflict between science and faith.

I think a creator of the universe should have the leisure to do things as they bloody well please.

that is not for me to say, but a blood pressure around zero, unconscious is not a good place to be. call it what you like and I said I wasn't challenging anyone's beliefs or theories, just relating my experience.

i was so galvanized by the advanced forensic science represented in the piece (especially the whole treatise on the importance of teeth) that I purchased and read a rather excellent book yesterday on the subject.

Brilliant treatise, simply brilliant.
