Good news for our area bases... just hope the LCS survives.  It is on pretty shaky ground...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

My last conversation with a Navy person familiar with LCS was that the LCS ships look great but are built really bad.

Lots of deaign flaws, dissimilar metal issues, difficult to repair.

I am thinking this is the dough to address that.

The article states it if infrastructure funding.  It'd for buildings and shore facilities not boats.

You sure about that?  Do you work for the Navy or are you just guessing?

I was being sarcastic, nothing more.   ;)

MILCON (Military Construction) funds, shipbuilding funds, and operations and maintenance funds all come out of different pots. The first two are budgeted five years out while the last is yearly. There's just no way for money earmarked for facilities could be used on R&D/production/repairs of the platform.

You need a support facility for the ships before the ships can be homeported here.
