^You're giving a lot of credence to what the analysts are predicting the selection committee will do. They really have no idea precisely how a lot of seedings will be, even assuming everything goes as expected with all the remaining conference tourney titles...

But indeed, considering how little the members likely have followed UNF, it bodes well how the A-Sun has performed in recent years.

Joe Lunardi's Bracketology (which is what I use as a source) is dynamic and predictive. Whereas the committee looks at a body of work right up to the decision day. Therefore, winners and losers of their conference tourneys do have an impact on seedings and selections right up to bracket day.

With many years to looks back on now, people have gotten better at handicapping the selection committee. But its not perfect and usually there is some surprise or snub every year that gets people talking.

The "snub" team this year will be Murray State who got upset by Belmont in the OVC Tourney. The surprise team will be some team barely creeping in the Big Ten. Probably Purdue.

The hardest part every year for the selection committee is what to do with mid-majors who have great records, win their regular season, but are upset in their tourney. Great body of work perhaps, but didn't cut it when it mattered the most.

USA TODAY brackets predict UNF will be in a play in game in the Midwest regional against Manhattan. The winner plays Kentucky.

CBS was taking a different tack saying the A-Sun has proven it value and shouldnt be seeded in play in games anymore. However if it was FGCU that might be the case. They beat 2 high RPI schools this year, where as UNF beat just 1.

UNF matches up better against Villanova and Virginia. The rest are tougher.

Should be interesting where they land.

My guess is UNF ends up in Dayton but you get a shot at winning one there. Just want to avoid UK.

UNF vs Robert Morris in Dayton for the play-in game. The winner plays Duke in Charlotte.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

I'm done with the NCAA

Tell me about it, the selection committee is a complete load of crap.

Getting Duke is a good draw for UNF if they win the play in game. Not going to win the 1-16 matchup either way, but at least when you play Duke you get a lot more media coverage and higher national viewership. Plus playing against Duke is very special in itself.

spuwho

In the ESPN bracket special they didnt even mention UNF by name, just said "Duke in the next round".

CBS Sports at least said Duke will defeat Robert Morris in the first round.

But its OK. They did the same thing to FGCU. When they predicted Georgetown to reach the round of 16 without so much as an afterthought 2 years ago.

I see that the mid-majors are all getting #8 seeds in the NIT.

Maybe it's just me, but conference winners shouldn't have to do the play in game.

Four games on Thursday.  1st session Xavier vs BYU or Ole Miss at 1:40pm.  Baylor vs GA State about 30 min after 1st game ends (my guess would be about 4:10pm).  2nd session N. Carolina vs Harvard at 7:20pm followed by Arkansas vs Wofford.  3rd session Saturday, start time TBD.  Times via Ticketmaster.

I hate that they won't release saturday game times until friday.  Makes it hard to plan.  I have people coming in to town and if they get here in time we can go to the game, but we won't know until Friday.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

I know what you mean. My son has a baseball game at 1 on Saturday. If the games are in the evening, I can go.
