Sweet Theory is amazing, if you have a sweet tooth and haven't been I highly recommend it.

Green Erth Bistro gets my stamp of approval.  The Kabobs are amazing.  They also have one of the more expansive vegan / vegetarian options in the city as well.

^ They're not the typical hole in the wall restaurants that I feature but if a spot is generally unknown and its existence is a bit of a surprise to many in Jacksonville, it has potential to make the cut. I want this list to be about discovering unknown spots.

There isn't a grand calculus.

Just because a place is clean and nicely decorated doesn't mean it can't make the list.

While I agree this isn't a hole in the wall list, I gotta give a thumbs up to Green Erth Bistro. One of the more unique ethnic eateries in town. Love it there.

Buyer beware though: a Reeds Ginger Beer costs $6........

Sweet Theory's donuts are amazing for sure! Like a Krispy Kreme donut on steroids- but "healthier".. actually just better for those who have allergies.  Nonetheless, they are addicting.  One thing I do want to mention is that their customer service needs some brushing up, not too friendly in there. 

Got to swing by Hung Thinh Supermarket and what a surprise!  I am half Asian so this visit was super fun to walk down every isle and see items that you would see in one market but not in another.  This is my new "go to" for all and any Oriental goods! Oh and you will be greeted "Hello!" when walking in and get a "How are you?" when you check out.      Thanks for the share!

Just make sure you check the expiration dates on those canned products from Hung Thinh.

As I sure you know most Asian canned goods show a manufactured or packaged date rather then an expiration date.

Sorry but Sweet Theory's donuts can't hold a candle to The Donut Shoppe in Arlington. Not even close. The rest of their stuff is good but pretty typical - nothing there was something you couldn't get somewhere else. (If that makes sense.)

Can't wait to try Green Erth though... looks fantastic!

I have been shopping for Asian ingredients at Hung Thinh for years, even before they moved from across the street on Normandy. BIG supermarket, variety of ingredients I can't find at too many places, and it's close to where I live. Good call.
