Downtown Osprey

Stumbled across this on Twitter. A roller coaster? Anyone have any other additional info on this?

Put an aquarium and an observation tower in there and I am sold.

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

I said the same thing on FB. City council will get this funded if an aquarium and space needle are involved.

I'm sure Don Redman is having his staff look into the seriousness of this plan. He'll be super let down when he realizes this is a joke. Considering that intuition often has great April Fool's jokes, I wonder how they will top this in a couple months.

Don't forget a zip line... 8)

How about put an aquarium on the Shipyards property. A space needle at Intuition and a zipline between the two to get back and forth.

Steel pillars on top of the building in April holding a "Coming Soon!!!" banner.

Beer and roller coasters make great combinations.

For those out of the loop, the state is being sued by retailer/distributor interests/lobbyists for allowing breweries to have tap rooms (among other things) using an old "tourism" exception the state enacted way back in the day to allow Busch Gardens to be able to serve beer they brewed onsite. The lobbyists are going to argue that breweries don't promote tourism. Pretty damn good timing since Visit Jacksonville just started up the Jax Ale Trail promotion. If bed tax dollars are going towards promoting breweries in the area, that's pretty damn good ammunition for the state/breweries.

I think they're joking.

It's obviously a joke - I can tell because Macy's and Ikea aren't in this photo.

Look close enough and you might see a Bass Pro Shop

Unfortunately now there will be no need for a rollercoaster. Looks like big beer gave up!

No, they're not done. They're just withdrawing the challenge while the agency reconsiders the rules. If they don't like what the agency comes up with, it's likely to be back. By the way, this challenge was not by big beer, it was the Florida Retail Federation.
