Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

BridgeTroll

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

I guess that I'm gonna buck the trend, as I don't think the sky is falling with the Olson hire. Like they say, you can't turn a teams roster from chicken salad into chicken you know what. Much of Olson's career, his teams' rosters were subpar with forgettable QB's. Some people say that the newly announced Bear's OC Adam Gase's success is due to Peyton Manning, an accomplished QB that's known for changing plays at the line.

No matter if we have one of the Ninja Turtles at OC, bottomline it's all gonna come down to Bortles progression, and the team additions built around him. I won't lie and say that I'm excited about Olson, but I'm hardly freaking out over the hire of an assistant coach who never had much to work with.

At first I was like "really?" with the hire. Then I thought to myself, it doesn't matter who you have in there calling the plays, if we don't see proper development with our key core players we will be doomed for failure.

Marrone and Olsen are both known for getting alot out of their players.

Olsen also is good at adjusting the demands based on the game requirements.

I saw too much forcing the game plan under Fisch instead of adjusting to the game conditions.

When they would exit the plan and open up they showed much more capability.

Increasing the experience levels on the offense side will help Gus with game planning.

I see this as a net positive for the Jags.  Marrone will have a good chip on his shoulder to prove his exit at Buffalo was not trivial.

The accurate NFL attendance average numbers finally came in and the Jags did very well, 21st in the league (average 65, 541). Of course someone is obligatorily gonna say "London helped us out' well London helped out a bunch of other teams as well.

Keith-N-Jax

I heard the London game doesnt figure in, not sure how accurate that is though

I-10east

^^^I'm pretty sure that the attendance in London comes into play.

Since the rankings are based on home game attendance....a bunch of other teams = 2 other teams

Also of note is Minnesota....they are playing outdoors for a few years at the University of Minnesota stadium...which is pretty small....their numbers will jump dramatically when the new indoor stadium opens in 2016.

colts 60,601
steelers 66,198
browns 61,341
dolphins 65,633
*cowboys* 83,603
giants 64,687
texans 61,070
titans 61,202

It includes the London game, but we still weren't too shabby (considering how awful we've been the past decade). If you don't include the London game we averaged 62,962, 25th place, just ahead of Pittsburgh. Last years average was 59,940 for reference.

pierre

Considering the team has been god awful for the last few years, the attendance has been good. I just hope the team starts winning this year. Not sure how long the fans will continue to turn out to watch a team that wins 2-5 games a year.

Marrone and Olsen?? Ugh... :o

Marrone as o-line coach could be a great hire.

Olson...I will reserve judgement.

I'm sure that football fans in 2015 are well aware of that...Nothing can ever be as is, always some caveat with everything concerning the Jags...

Word is that Shad Khan is gonna extend the London games past the four year obligation. I can't say that I'm surprised. Looks like most of BCC is fine with it (according to poll) as they understand the economics and aren't part of the 'inferiority complex' crowd.

It's worth pointing out that the proposed renovations to the club seat sections at Everbank will reduce stadium capacity by approximately 3,000, bringing the total down to 64,000.

Great move for this market.
