Yes, I'm saying Gurley should be the number one pick. That's whether we're the absolute number one or the third pick in the first round, whatever. It is pure laziness (IMHO) to stick with this line about who should or should not be taken with that pick when QBs are regularly taken and are no better than a 50-50 proposition.

We desperately need the kind of back Todd Gurley is. With what we already have, he instantly makes the O-line better and puts our entire offense over the top.

For that reason alone, he is worthy of our number one pick.

If it was 25-30 years ago, I could agree with you but the game has changed.

Backs like Jamaal Charles, Lesean McCoy, Frank Gore, Demarco Murray were all 2nd, 3rd, 4th round picks. The day of first round running backs is over.

Just read that Bortles has the highest 3rd down completion rate in the NFL. As the article says, that is shocking considering he has such a poor/young cast around him. He's made mistakes, but my good if hes doing this good now, just wait until the entire offense start clicking. We may sit at 0-6, but its definately a different 0-6 than last year. There's actually hope and were actually close to winning this year.

He is a stud. We finally have the QB.

I like some of the pieces around him too. Robinson, Lee, Harbor, Linder, Bowanko. Just so many rookies but good that they can grow with Bortles.

The defense though is another story. Too many veterans to be getting beat on a weekly basis. I know the points allowed the last two weeks have been good but too many plays where the other team has wide open receivers.

I am totally fine with the Jags taking Gurley with a top 5 pick....and suggested to one Herschel Walker this evening that we had a stadium here in Jax. ready for the next stud Georgia running back to showcase his talents.

Great team win today! very impressed with the defense the past few weeks. When youre playing a rookie QB, your defense has to step up. And they have done so greatly. Also glad to finally see a RUNNING GAME. And it was by a 5th round and 7th round pick. The Bortles and Denard read option is hard to stop also. They need to run that more often. It was an ugly day for Bortles, but that is what you expect from a Rookie in his 4th start. His play is going to be up and down all season so I really don't stress about that to much. He will have more turn overs than TD's this year, but most rookies do. Were in a much better spot than we were this time last year. This a lot of work to do on offense, but it will come together eventually.
