Union Jax is the UK based Jaguars Fan Club.

Union Jax is growing. (over 24,000 members!)

http://www.jaguars.com/uk/index.html

Did you know that while it is the offseason here, Union Jax has been promoting different activities through the UK?

The Roar Jag Cheerleaders have been touring the UK.  They made an appearance at a UK military base, held a NFL cheerleader camp and appeared at a Fulham soccer game.

Jax DeVille toured as well through Rosslyn Park FC, send the PM a letter asking to grant Jaguars fan a holiday from work on July 4th.

But also the Jags have a ezine that they have been sending out to Union Jax members to help promote them locally.  Did you know a rabid Jags fan from Wales won an all expense paid trip to the draft to read out a pick?

Everyone should know that unlike many of the other teams that play and leave, the Jaguars have continued to develop a fan base in the UK during the offseason.

I don't hear about the 49'ers, the Cowboys or anyone else putting that much commitment into selling their teams locally (not just to military personnel) overseas. The Jags are the real deal.

Look for a huge Union Jax party again at the Hard Rock Café in central London.  It will be teal night!

Dear Dave,

I'm sure you remember me from my last visit to London but, just in case, my name is Jaxson de Ville and I am the NFL's no.1 mascot for Florida's Jacksonville Jaguars. As the Jaguars are playing one game in London each year we're taking a keen interest in your country's current affairs.  It has come to my attention that, whilst we'll all be celebrating our nation's Independence Day, 4th July is a working day in our second home across the pond, meaning our UK fans will be chained to their desks. What's up with that!?

I have to stand up for our UK fans and so I'm intervening to say how about an EverBank Holiday for that Friday (named after our stadium 'EverBank Field')?

We at the Jags are well behind the United States' special relationship with the UK so we want to share the Independence Day celebrations with our pie and mash eating cousins. I'm thinking less red coats, more Hawaiian shirts – let your people get out there and enjoy the sun! You guys barely see it after all.

We'll be heading to London on November 9 to take on the Dallas Cowboys at Wembley Stadium.  I'm sure you've already bought your ticket. We couldn't be more grateful to the support of our UK fans and, don't forget, the NFL International Series games bring a huge amount of revenue to the UK economy. So come on – surely one day off for our incredible fans can't hurt?

I know you're going to do the right thing big man.

Yours in Football (not soccer),

Jaxson de Ville

Did anyone see that late last night/early this morning they were testing out the video boards? The local news programs were showing live footage of it about 5:45. Giant American flag could be seen from a great distance.

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

There is a pretty good view of the south scoreboard from the corner of Jessie St. and Bridier St. on the Eastside. It was pretty spectacular last night.

Regarding our awesome new scoreboards... I was wondering the other day during another bout of inclement weather...  Just how weather proof are these enormous structures?  Lightning is exceedingly common here and those large flat screens seem quite vulnerable to high winds.  I am sure all that has been factored into the design and construction but I do not remember any articles or discussion about this.  Jerrys giant screen in Dallas is indoors...

They're just as weather resistant as any other board. It's not actually one giant panel, it's many 10x10 panels fit together with 4x10 panels lining the top. Should a piece of the board get damaged it would be a fairly easy repair. I'm sure Khan / the city have a hefty insurance policy on them as well.

What about category 3 hurricane force winds?

Jaguars on track to lead the league in season ticket sales:

I read this last night! I love sites like big cat country, because when its positive Jags news, your not going to read it in the national media. The renewals are whats impressive to me. 83% is pretty high given the teams record the past two years. And to stack new season ticket sales on top of that, were making great strides.

I renewed my tickets and cant wait to fly home to see a few games.

Crap... You know what they probably didn't consider winds when designing them. Guess they'll have to tear them down.
