I thought I would begin the thread with some humor... This is good!  :)

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

What happens outside the stadiums may make as much news as what happens inside...

Anybody here going?  Went?  Knows someone?  I have been to Recife and Natal...

Hopefully, John Oliver's absolutely amazing FIFA rant will bring more attention to issues involving World Cup for which many journalists (football and otherwise), advocacy groups, unions, social organizations, and individuals have long sought attention.

FIFA has conducted some despicable business that filled their coffers whilst draining resources from locals (and local businesses) in S. Africa and Brazil. They have remained mostly silent on migrant worker conditions in Qatar. There is a new FIFA bribery scandal about every year. The organization is flawed to say the least.

...and like Oliver, I'm still excited for WC.

Or, maybe not. At least if Sepp Blatter has his way.
Quote(Reuters) - FIFA president Sepp Blatter launched a scathing attack on those he said were "plotting to destroy" world soccer's governing body, and branded some of the criticism of the Qatar World Cup award for 2022 as racist.

Blatter won't let the World Cup move out of Qatar on his watch. They paid him too much.

when I am in the states I can't watch my Italian league games. So i found this site that I watch games that aren't televised on. So if your favorite team isn't being broadcast watch it here :) fırstrowsports.eu/

Brazil should win, but don't sleep on Croatia. Probably have a top 5-10 midfield of all WC teams with Modric, Rakitic, Perisic, and others. Plus guys elsewhere like Mandzukic, Olic, Srna, and Lovren. They've always been one of my favorite teams to watch, as they mix technical skills well with physicality.

Watch out for Rakitic, he just signed for Barcelona and is in great form.

I like Croatia personally, but brazil seems to always be so damn good when it matters most lol I do hope to see something other than the typical finalists though. That is one reason why I like the college basketball march madness :)

Apart from Italy that is... Gotta root for the team.
