With all of the seats they ripped out I wonder what they are going to do for Fl/Ga?

They still have the ability to add temporary seats for FL/GA so the stadium will have about the same capacity for that game as it always did.

What is that cost?

About $150 per ticket.

and it will have to be the same capacity

Sure.  1 ass/seat.

So 1.5 mm every year to put in temporary seating?

How much will it cost to put in the temporary seating that the city took out for the scoreboard?

jaxjaguar

The only temporary seating that will be added is what they normally add in the south endzone... so whatever that cost was. The higher ticket average from added premium seating will offset the price of any extra seating needed

They have a contract with Georgia and Florida to provide X amount of seating. They will have to provide those seats. That is not the question, which is how much will it cost?

@Bill

QuoteFor instance, the city would have to install about 7,600 temporary seats in the fan zone to comply with seating requirements for the Florida-Georgia game. Based on current costs of temporary seating elsewhere in the stadium, the expense would be about $376,000, though the exact cost would hinge on putting it out for bids.

Agreed but you are referring to bleachers. They took out chair back seats so that is what they will have to replace.

Christ man!  You should worry more about the money spent in this city that doesn't generate any revenue rather than stir up shit towards one of the few things that does bring back a ton of money during the WEEK+ that those fans are in town.

I know you probably won't believe another article, but....  Here ya' go anyhow

^^^Exactly. I still have yet to understand exactly what Bill's point is. We still already have too much permanent seating (in the nosebleed corners) and they removed the largest tarp in the stadium (web.com) for more entertainment options. One of the many 'complain just to complain' arguments, unless he loves a super large web.com tarp...

There are some rumors out there that down the line, Jax's largest cocktail party could be on the chopping block if the SEC decides to expand to nine games (I heard it on the radio, and I'm not sure concerning the intricacies of the SEC). It would obviously be devastating given the tradition of this long time rivalry in Jax, and the economic impact.

I can't lie and say that I'll be distraught if the game leaves town. I get a little tired of the snide 'The only time when a football game is filled in Jax' crap. If it was up to me between a 'stay or go' with the FL/GA game, I'll say stay; Just too much economic impact, tradition, and all of that jazz. :)

FSBA

Even if the SEC goes to 9 games, Florida and Georgia make more money having it in Jacksonville than alternating it between campuses. More likely Florida would stop scheduling any major OOC opponents besides Florida State.

A bigger concern of mine is that we may lose the game to Atlanta... We almost lost it during the last bid and with the Falcons building a new "fancy retractable roof"  stadium I could see the SEC moving the game if Atlanta out bids us... :(

I-10east

^^^It's not exactly like EverBank is shabby either, with all of those major updates. Concerning Atlanta, at worst I could see a 'back and forth' rotation between ATL & Jax.

jaxjaguar

I could see an Atlanta bid putting a fire under Khan and the city to get the roof mock up done that leaked a few months ago along with some ship yard development to keep the fans happy / occupied longer.
