The rumor is that the Jags are gonna be on HBO's Hard Knocks.

While far from an official written in stone press release, A PFTer said that his kin who works for HBO Sports (east coast) has confirmed it. Just putting it out there, keep a look out for it. This rumor just might be true, given that one Sam Kouvaris didn't put the rumor out there. :)

It may be. I wouldnt doubt it. Gus Bradely is the NFL's new love child, and The Jags are a team "on the rise." Perfect story line.

Would not shock me.

But I don't think the team has shown much interest in being involved with the show.

Well they wouldnt have a choice this time around. If it is true, Im confident they will do everything in their power to minimize distractions.

On the EverBank Field Live Cam that shows the stadium updates, I noticed atop the South endzone scoreboard structure has these two 'diving platform-looking' steel support structures of some kind. To say the least, they are unexpected in comparison to the generic renderings of the big boards.

Obviously the EverBank Field sign will be up there somewhere, but there isn't no way ONLY the EverBank Field sign will take up ALL of that room up there (esp the structures being so tall, and so wide apart). Maybe it's the actual height of the boards, that's the only thing that I can think of. Are they temporary structures? I'm not sure. I can't wait to see the final look of the stadium in the coming months. In the North endzone, they already are working on the party deck.

The new video boards are 301' x 55'.

The existing supports in place, without the two higher support structures that you noted, have roughly the same 5.5:1 proportion as the finished boards will have (I just measured in Photoshop, which might possibly make me a nerd). For that reason, it can't be the height of the boards.

I'm guessing maybe they've increased the size of the Everbank signage? Or maybe they'll flank the Everbank signage with Jaguars logos on either side, which would look pretty cool.

Great idea to put that livecam up.

It's a lot of fun to check in on the construction.

One thing I would say about Everbank is this is technically the last year of their naming rights agreement.

I wonder if increasing the size of the Everbank Field logo would be part of them re-upping with the city.

One of the hosts on 1010XL hinted a few weeks ago that a new deal with Everbank will be done this summer.

I was just thinking about the naming right. This year is the last year. Since weve heard nothing, no news is good news.

EverBank did have a renewal option with the deal as I recall.  I hope they will stay on as sponsor.  I like having a local company's name on the stadium.

Technically it goes by the NFL season, so the naming rights are in effect until June 30, 2015 with a renewal or new contract coming into play July 1st. Being more than a year out, it's way to early to even start speculating. Guarantee it won't even be on Everbank's radar until October, maybe even January.

Jaguars GM David Caldwell: "We can trade back at a pretty good distance and still get a player who can really help us."

JACKSONVILLE – This time around, nothing is off the table.

That was the first  and maybe biggest takeaway from the Jaguars' 2014 pre-draft luncheon Friday afternoon at EverBank Field, an event that featured General Manager David Caldwell and Head Coach Gus Bradley speaking casually to local media about next week's 2014 NFL Draft.

The takeaway? That unlike last year, pretty much any trade scenario is in play.

Caldwell, in his second offseason as the team's primary draft-day decision-maker, said whereas trading up was extremely unlikely in last year's draft – and in fact, did not happen in any round – this year that's not the case.

"We have 11 picks," Caldwell said. "We have a lot more flexibility than we did last year. If a player gets close and we really want him, we'll go after him."

The Jaguars, who finished 4-12 last season, have 11 selections in the May 8-10 NFL Draft, including the No. 3 selection in the first round.

He said that gives the team significant flexibility over the three-day event, opening up the possibility of moving up or back from the No. 3 overall selection as well as any of the 10 selections thereafter.

Caldwell said the Jaguars have been prepared to draft for the last week, having kept to the same preparation schedule as years past. The NFL moved the draft back two weeks this year, with it previously having been held in late April.

He also said the Jaguars have a clear idea who they will select if they stay at No. 3, and also that they have enough players targeted as impact players to feel confident dropping multiple spots in or even outside the Top 10.

Caldwell offered no specific possibilities at No. 3. South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins, Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack and Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson are considered by some the draft's top players, but Jaguars Head Coach Gus Bradley said there are several others a team would feel positive about taking in the Top 10.

LUNCHEON PHOTOS

"We have a lot of players in play that give us a lot of leverage if we want to trade back," Caldwell said. "We have a lot of options. We can trade back at a pretty good distance and still get a player who can really help us."

Caldwell also provided insight into what it would take for the Jaguars to move back from the third spot, saying that the team would be open to trading as far back as No. 11, 12 or 13 overall if "the compensation was right."

To move out of the Top 10 likely would require a team giving the Jaguars a first-round selection. Caldwell also said he believes the team's chances of finding a trading partner at No. 3 will be better if the Houston Texans do not trade out of the No. 1 spot.

Caldwell said the team has had 27 players to Jacksonville for pre-draft visits, three fewer than the maximum allowed, and said about 36 have been taken off the draft board for character or injury reasons.

Caldwell said the team would ideally like to get four-to-five eventual starters from this draft, and reiterated his view he generally expects players drafted in Rounds 1 through 3 to be starters.

According to FCN, Jimmy Smith will be featured on NFL Network's 'A Football Life". That's awesome he will be featured on that documentary. It's quite an honor. No questioning his overall career numbers. He recently reunited with his former WR teammate Keenan McCardell. Hopefully Smith will overcome his past demons. This is a guy IMO that should have been right after Boselli in the Jags ROH. I'll post the article/video info when it's available.
