Epic Theaters will be located on SR 207 in St. Augustine.  It will include 16 screens and space at the entrance for up to 10 specialty retailers.  Click here to see the architectural plans.

The lack of theaters in the Jacksonville area was laughable. The Hollywood theater at the RCMP and now this are helping.

Wow, those plans look better than I thought.  I've been looking for those things for quite some time now.  Thanks for digging them up.  I really like the retail aspect built right into the theatre.  Do you have acces to the overall development site plan?  I know there are condos or townhomes planned as well.

I live about 5 minutes from the site.  Right now everything is cleared and leveled but nothing has been done for a few weeks now.  Hopefully they haven't hit any snags.  I'll be keeping the site updated with progress pics once construction starts.

St. Johns county only has 2 theatres, the IMAX at World Golf Village and the 4 screen theatre at the Ponce Mall.  We are grossly underserved.

Here it is.  It has a small town center type plan with buildings lining the main street and parking behind them.

Thanks Lake.

This project out to be a big step forward for St. Augustine.  Although, I would have preferred something more similar in density to the San Sebastian Marina project.

UPDATE:  Finally, looks like things are back in buisness.  There is a new project sign on site and the heavy equipment is back to work.

The theater is in full operation. Also a pizzeria and a Mickey Dees.

The pizzaria is DeLeon Pizza that moved over from the Ponce Mall.  Great pizza and a nice fit for dinner and a movie.

Cool.  I hope it is surviving the Movie Theatre hard times!
