We also don't get a response back from calls/emails.

I really hate to say that, but it shouldn't take calling someone out on a public forum to get responses.

I wanted to bump this thread. Because the recent Redman email is just the tip of a bigger issue. Field is a man who gets things done. The recent live blogging of the first DIA Board meeting and the responses and observations of those who participated with the recent live blogging of that DIA meeting tells us that the decisions being made moving forward need to be in the Sunshine.

3 hours out from todays noticed meeting of the Jacksonville Waterways Commission 2013 FIND grant subcommittee meeting to make up for the non noticed Public meeting. 10 am 4Th floor city hall.

That's where we respectfully disagree.  It DOES matter.  Without that separate parcel, there is nothing that would stop a developer from buying the property intact and choosing to restrict public waterfront access on the site.  The city has the property, the next step is to protect this opportunity by ensuring it has public use.
Case in point, the Fuller Warren fishing pier.  History has proven time and time again that if we don't act to preserve, we will demolish.

I've spoken with you on the phone before, you are a very polite fellow and I thank you for that.  But I find it EXTREMELY odd that you can come on here on a public forum, but your office ignores emails upon emails.

If your boss can take the lead on the Riverwalk, why can't he take the lead on the pier in his own district?

6 days out on the RFI for Shipyards. is everyone just stoked and super excited that how many years later and you can only use the RAM dock when RAM is open? Where are you city council? That's right free parking and new comfy chairs.

At the 5/3/13 DIA Downtown Experience subcommittee meeting of the DIA I asked during the presentation. If anyone wanted to use the PUBLIC FLOATING dock that is the only Waterway access to SHIPYARDS III can they? I was told by Paul Crawford and Tony Allegretti and sitting right next to Scott Wilson NO! NO! Is anyone concerned in the teensiest, tiniest, little bit?

You've got VISION. CG7 did you get a chance to check it out? The PUBLIC Floating dock is behind the wooden fence and locked separated parcel. How many people know about this?

Palms Fish Camp! Palms Fish Camp! Palms Fish Camp! Who will be getting a million bucks for doing nothing? PS4 who will be getting millions for doing nothing? Who gets to name reefs and they haven't put a penny in the kitty?

Who should be joining Tony Nelson in Federal Prison? We celebrate the awarding of a pension by a Board to a bad guy.

I've given up on asking you know who about you know what. My elected legislative representative is aware of this.

The recent Jim Love, Kevin Kuzel, Berkman floating dock compromise misrepresented by OGC to the Waterways Commission during the 2013 FIND grant application process. Who should be disbarred?

5 days out from a Waterways meeting (dog and pony show) to make up for the secret meeting. Anyone going? this scenario just repeats itself. Will Mayor Brown be apologizing to the state on this one?

5 years later and still seeking a sponsor to take to the commissioners of FIND ( Florida Inland Navigation District) for a Pocket Pier/ Floating Dock at a Waterfront Public Access street end. A conspiracy to defraud. Who gets the credit?

Planning a BOLD, Tactical, URBAN CORE, kayak paddle from a Redneck launch and make some NOISE as we fish under the brand new NO FISHING signs that was never before Waterways? And this is all happening in our new DIA Restricted zone. I'm All In are you?

Anyone want to write a check for a buck to 2009-442 and I will deliver it personally in 4 days to the full city council? Don't be afraid of this. it's Positive.

I am Downtown and why you aren't.

No! Do it before. The Public Trust has been crushed. Destroyed. This can be Shipyards III.  The council could have attached an amendment to 2010-604 but didn't. Now you have so many factors that are just mounting and the revelation that Don CAN, COULD, and SHOULD move legislation forward will tell immediately to all the new city council members and Mayoral candidates and to the members of the Civic Council that you may be seeking a total Govt takeover and the creation and the elimination of District council representation on certain issues but there is no way in heck that you are going to take away our Promised 680'Downtown Public Pier also know as Bay St. Pier Park.

The Governor is aware of the issue. And in his letter to me said that its local. He is right. Stop using the people of this community like pawns. Don can hold a noticed meeting immediately. Warren Jones was going to do it. But you wouldn't know that because you blew off the Downtown Turnaround put on by Downtown Vision. Warren Jones is going to be part of Jacksonville's Maritime history when he joins Mayor Peyton on the opening of the floating dock at RAM.

The beautiful thing about this is that the Office of the General Council is aware of this issue and its becoming Shipyards III and that is unfortunate on so many levels.
Let Warren Jones do it then. Don and I participate in as many events as possible. No one can be at everything. He never accepted an invite to that event. I'm done arguing with you about that. Let me know when you let go of it. I do not appreciate your tone on these posts.

The 8/2/13 Downtown Experience Committee meeting of the new DIA and just 17 days away from the new CEO Aundra Wallace (I feel sorry for the man already) taking control and in my opinion started on the steps of city hall with Mike Field and councilman Warren Jones.

After the meeting I shared with Mike Field and showed him the Jim Love, Kevin Kuzel, 26' Berkman floating dock compromise misrepresented by OGC to the Jacksonville Waterways Commission during the 2013 FIND grant application process. The commissioners of FIND appointed by the Governor are aware of the issue. Pull the tape. And when we went outside there was a spontaneous opportunity to share the same concern with Jacksonville city councilman Warren Jones.

A Downtown Turnaround and zero representation from your elected representation and what will happen? A noticed meeting by a city councilman not in your District that could have the immediate potential to restore the Public Trust to our St. Johns River our American Heritage River a FEDERAL Initiative in our new highly restricted DIA zone.

I find your opinion that you get no responses from this office completely incorrect. The Shipyards property is in District 7. I would prefer we hear from Dr. Gaffney on the issue.

Thank you for sharing your opinions though!!!

Nice try, but the piers are actually in District 4

District 4 ends at Liberty Street

perhaps you should look at your council district maps....notice how the piers are in District 4!

http://www3.coj.net/City-Council/Docs/District-4/2007district04map.aspx
I'm afraid he's got you, Scott.  The piers are in District 4 while the shore is in District 7.

I now realize there are a couple different versions of the map. My boss does not have any plans to request changes to the Shipyards property. Currently the City owns the entire parcel. As long as the City owns the property it should not matter.

Time is running out. Scott, 2011-364 was just withdrawn RAM.  2010-856 was also withdrawn. Regional Partners or lets just say anyone outside of Duval county is scratching their heads as to why we are denying Public Access and Economic opportunity to our St. Johns River our American Heritage River. Who is leading the conspiracy?

Will be posting on the Aug.10 2011 Jacksonville Waterways Commission meeting on another thread. City council meeting in 5 days. Board meeting of Downtown Vision in 6 days. Don, has the legislative power to Make It Happen.

The state of Florida is watching.

2013-384 is active legislation. I've contacted my elected legislative representative Don Redman who is also chair of Waterways to attach an amendment that would allow 24/7 Public Access to Hogans Creek. Will he do it? The applicant is supportive after the Public Hearing.

Jacksonville Waterways Commission meeting just 5 hours out. Who gets the state of Florida conspiracy award for the crushing of economic opportunity to our St. Johns River our American Heritage River a FEDERAL, FEDERAL, FEDERAL Initiative in our new highly restricted DIA zone.

Governor Scott you may have to intervene immediately for the people of Florida.

The Public Trust just crushed.

For the two unopposed city council candidates and especially the one who is supposed to represent Downtown the no show at the forum that was named "Downtown Turnaround" was a slap in the face to not only the the Board members of Downtown Vision but to Terry Lorrince, her staff and every citizen who participated and took their time to show up and listen to what our elected legislative representatives are planning to do.

As for the Promised 680' Downtown Public Pier the Governor of the state of Florida is aware of the issue. And he is correct in that right now its a local issue. In my opinion its turning into Shipyards III. After the elections it escalates in my opinion to another statewide joke. Scott I've emailed you. Actually I've emailed Don. Do something. Waiting for an email response back. We were there together and both heard that the pier can happen now. 2010-604- What are you afraid of?

Again I give super props to Michelle Tappouni who knows and is making an impressive attempt to understand a Downtown issue that could immediately catapult this community in how it provides access to our St. Johns River our American Heritage River in our Downtown Jacksonville Overlay Zoning District and how the total Govt takeover of our Entertainment District by a yet created DIA by a recommendation of the Jacksonville Civic Council that would still have to be voted on by our Jacksonville city council will effect our community for decades to come.

So who's next?
Anyone who wants to see Hogans Creek from the water just give me a call.
Top of the list goes to anyone in the spring elections.
Any of the members of the Jacksonville Civic Council.
Anyone who is participating in the JCCI study which is going on right now and its called Recession, Recovery, and Beyond.
Tera Meeks-New Division Chief for Property Management and Programming
Paul Anderson- the new Director of the JPA
Daniel O"Byrne new Director of Visit Jacksonville.

Be concerned. Keep score.

Messed this up. Hope everyone can make this 4/2/14 Noticed meeting. 14 days later is the last opportunity for Public Comment on our new CRA/DIA in the USA that will then be forwarded to the full Jacksonville city council. VISIT JACKSONVILLE or DON'T VISIT JACKSONVILLE?

Noticed Meeting in the Sunshine Open to the Public on 4/2/14
11am to12pm 4th floor city hall.
NEW RULES to REPLACE the OLD RULES
Every media outlet in the state of Florida needs to be at this meeting. HUGE!
Governor Scott
Mayor Brown
The issue is will there be Public Access and Economic opportunity for everyone on our St. Johns River our American Heritage River a FEDERAL Initiative in our new highly restricted CRA/DIA zone.
Who deserves the title of the RICOKEEPER?

Tonight at the Jacksonville city council meeting I plan on writing another check to a secret Trust Fund that has a Waterways component to it. Scott Wilson feel free to jump in here at any time. Councilman Redman is aware of the issue and it should have been mentioned at the last full meeting of the Jacksonville Waterways Commission under old business or new business.

Total Backroom deals.

I participated. And here's my abbreviated take going straight from the program.

1. Dist. 4 Don Redman
- Honary Board member of Downtown Vision representing the  Jacksonville city council, Also representing the Jacksonville city council on the Jacksonville Waterways Commission and also the council member who represents the primary boundary that encompasses Downtown Vision was a NO SHOW. Blank.

2. Council District 7
Johnny Gaffney- NO SHOW. Blank.
Marc McCullough,Sr.

3.At Large Group 4
Greg Anderson
Juan Diaz
Jim Robinson

Personally, I haven't made a decision on these three candidates. Time is short. Will be kayaking tomorrow under the Times Union Building on McCoys Creek if you read this and want to participate the call me. 434-0839 or my house 721-3321. I'll bring a tandem.

4. At large Group 5
Fred Engness
Sean Hall
Robin Lumb
Robin Rukab
Michelle Tappouni

In this race for me its a slam dunk with Michelle Tappouni. I'm running up and down with high fives.

The three pointer that put the game away for me was the opening presentations that were moderated by Rebecca Berry of WJXT/TV4 and every candidate opened with an opening statement and Michelle Tappouni went last and pointed out that none of the previous candidates in their opening remarks mentioned that one of the most important elements of our Downtown is the River. Her statement was met with resounding applause.

VOTE FOR TAPPOUNI for the AT-Large Group 5

CRA/DIA in the USA just 8 hours out. Anyone going? Councilman Redman, Scott Wilson are you going? Will there be any media there? Does anybody care?

Ben - JCCI have you ever been to one of these meetings? But everyone showed up for your party with Vision 2025

Paul Astleford is a hero.

We just passed 2014-190 for a completed Southbank Riverwalk at the 4/22/14 Jacksonville city council meeting. Very Positive.

At the 4/2/14 Noticed meeting on new Docking Rules and councilman Redman I hope as the District councilman, The Chair of Waterways that you will share with the world that the new city owned floating docks that have yet to be built will have a 10 year no compete clause for one vendor. What a joke! Have you notified the CRA consultants of this news? Are you or Scott going to just keep this secret too? Or are you going to let the DIA Board aware of this? Can this little piece of information impact our CRA?

This meeting is in the Sunshine and Open to the Public and is at 3pm today 1st floor city hall. There will be other issues besides our river that will be discussed.

A new Authority

It will Embrace Us

Jacksonville Waterways Commission meeting just two days out 5/14/14 at 9 am in council chambers and will councilman Redman share with the Commissioner the results of the 4/2/14 Noticed meeting on new Docking Rules that he participated in? Will there be a FIND update? We are so Lost.

It didn't happen at the April meeting. CRA/DIA in the USA is hours later. 3pm 1st floor city hall.

Lets share some positive recaps in our CRA/DIA and why we want to tell the world to Visit Jacksonville Downtown on our St. Johns River our American Heritage River a FEDERAL Initiative in our super duper highly restricted (Food Truck, Kayak) CRA/DIA zone.

2013-384- Armory for a buck and zero access to Hogans Creek.

The 4/2/14 Noticed meeting on new docking Rules and the announcement that the new yet to be built floating docks on the Southbank will have one vendor and at the same meeting a handout by Tera Meeks, Margo with the administration and Paige with OGC and if you violate not just this docking rule but any docking rules in Duval county the penalty can be the seizure of your watercraft by a host of various Govt. agencies. Visit Jacksonville?

RAM dock only opened when RAM is open. Not good.

JEA Board, Duval County School Board please support the Tom Ingram recommendation of a SUP, kayak launch between these properties that was part of a FIND list. Very positive. Congratulations to Mr. Ingram. Let's all make this an immediate part of the CRA/DIA plan.

My favorite. the Jim Love, Kevin Kuzel, 26' Berkman floating dock compromise (Shipyards III) misrepresented by OGC to the Jacksonville Waterways Commission during the 2013 FIND grant application process. I will swear to that under oath in any court of law. It is brilliant and is backed up with councilwoman Boyer's Catherine St. Follow up. Very Positive.

Scott Wilson feel free to jump in here about the DIA subcommittee meeting on the RFI, RFP on Shipyards. WOW!

The most positive project in the CRA/DIA zone, the city, the region, the state, the country is bringing the USS Charles F. Adams to Downtown Jacksonville. A positive use of Shipyards money. Restore the Public Trust. Welcome to Actionville!

2014-305 - Will it be in Waterways in 3 hours?

Does our CRA/DIA have any clue as to the power of this legislation?

Who do you turn to when ignored by your elected legislative representative?
Jacksonville Waterways Commission meeting 2 day out. At the 8/13/14 was a request by JWC commission members to see the new Downtown Docking zone map that you can only guess who was invited to participate in when putting this together. We don't have a Parks director. 2014-412 the unauthorized purchase of the water taxis. 2014-305 new docking Rules and Penalties. Peter Rummel in the TU about the Landing and the need to use the River. Very Positive. 2014-560 the CRA/DIA and a super duper restricted 4.8mile Waterfront zone.
