What a great month.

My baby girl was born on the 19th, and two weeks later I got to place her in front of the TV and force her to watch Florida State take the National Championship with me while whispering nasty things about the Gators and Canes in her ear.

I really think it's going to reap dividends in 18 years when it's time to start filling out those applications.

:D

By that time, the new name will be TCC East Campus.

That is no way to talk about this state's best public investment.

Florida State produces more bang for its buck than any school in the country according the US News metrics.

Well Miami may get back to having 20k people attend their games by then too.   ;)

QuoteWinston accuser eyes civil lawsuit

Jameis Winston's alleged rape accuser plans to file a civil lawsuit against the Florida State quarterback and the Tallahassee Police Department, her attorney told ABC News on Wednesday.

"I want heads to roll," Patricia Carroll said in an exclusive interview with ABC News.

"The family is proceeding, with civil action against the TPD and Jameis Winston. And possibly the university."

As far as Winston goes, I wonder what they could even do in a civil suit at this point, even if the allegations were true. It's clearly too late to prove anything. However, going after the Tallahassee Police Department is totally understandable. We'll never know the true story one way or the other because of how badly they handled the investigation. Through the whole thing they've made themselves look like the Podunk Hayseed Kampus Kops, more interested in keeping the town gravy boat unsloshed than investigating a rape allegation. I think we all knew this wasn't over.

Tach, have you actually read the reports from the TPD investigation and SAO or are you just basing your opinion off the clowns in the sports media?

Girl got caught cheating on her BF and lied to her roommates about getting raped to cover her ass. Her story and her terrible lawyers are full of holes....and fyi, The SAO fairly recently wrongly charged a star FSU player with rape...only for an all female jury to unanimously declare him innocent.

^ Why should Winston settle...the risk is greater for her....right now, her name has not been "officially" released....when they file a civil suit, it will certainly be made public...and then all of her dirty laundry will be on parade.

Now, TPD may want to settle.

tufsu, you mean like the tweet of hers shortly before the incident where she said, "hit me up if you're on the FSU basketball team. I promise I'm wifey material."

I read the state attorney report, and it's a total clown show. It's basically the SA investigators trying to piece together an investigation a year later, after evidence has been lost irretrievably and the witnesses have clearly forgotten details (and in some cases, had a chance to get their stories straight). This wouldn't have happened if the initial investigation was handled by a real police department instead of the South Cooterville Volunteer Policin' Society and Seminoles Booster Club.

This article from the Tampa Bay Times highlights some of the many ways the cops botched the case. Not interviewing witnesses and letting Winston's attorney get to them before they were interviewed. Making little if any effort to question the bar or find the cab driver until the recordings and records were lost. And of course, not notifying the State Attorney of the investigation, though they allegedly let Winston's lawyers know. Briscoe and Green they are not.

I'm definitely not saying the allegations are true. But we'll never know for sure because of how badly this was handled. It's entirely understandable the accuser wants the police held accountable.

Umm, you're not wifey material if you're getting tossed around by any college sports team. Just sayin.....

Groupie, gold digger?....maybe.

Wifey?.....no way.

Ummm Tach, might not want to link an article written by a family friend of the accuser and her lawyer...That same douche has been dying to make a name of himself this whole time and hasn't even been mildly objective. I could write a 10 page rant about how poorly the media has covered this, how obvious it was that the girl was lying, and how whole thing is an obvious money grab...but I'm not that worried about convincing fans of FSU's rivals about it...

Haha. Definitely groupie. She was part of a group of girls that called themselves fsucleatchasers and frequently posted about trying to hook up with athletes on twitter.
