Another competive game, despite a slew of injuries to our starters. I give credit to Chad Henne. Despite a few hiccups, he's kept the offense moving the past two games, despite having no weapons at WR (except Sanders) and inexperience on the offensive line.  Its easy to blame a QB for a loss, but our roster is paper thin and Im shocked weve done this well the past two weeks to be honest. To have back ups and guys from the practice squad be competitive is also shows they are being well coached. Im just ready for free agency and the draft. The best is yet to come.

is anyone else shocked that Andre Branch has six sacks this season? I remember watching him last year thinking he was going to be a bust. That just goes show how quick fans are to judge rookies. In fans eyes when your a high round pick you are required to come flying out the gate, which is an unfair way to think. Different people develop at different levels.  I remember being guilty of making jokes about Shorts, but after that catch  during the chargers MNF game I knew he had something and he definately had the majority of us eating crow. Seems like year two is a big year for most players. Side note: Shorts and Sanders were both 4th round picks. We need more steals like this during the draft.

QuoteSouth Carolina's Clowney gets 110 mph ticket

By The Associated Press

COLUMBIA, S.C. | Troopers say South Carolina star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was ticketed for going 110 mph in a 70 mph zone on a South Carolina interstate.

Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. David Jones said Clowney was pulled over in a Chrysler 300 around 7:30 p.m. Saturday northbound on Interstate 77 in Fairfield County, about 25 miles north of Columbia.

Jones says Clowney was issued the ticket and allowed to drive away. It carries a $355 fine and six points, which are half the points needed to suspend a driver's license.

The university didn't make Clowney or coach Steve Spurrier available to talk.

Clowney is a junior expected to enter the NFL draft after South Carolina plays Wisconsin in the Capital One Bowl. He was named to The Associated Press All-Southeastern Conference team Monday.

He's got another speeding ticket. If I was the Jags, I wouldn't touch Clowney with a ten foot pole. Especially that we're having to deal with the current problem child J. Blackmon right now. Another reason why I wouldn't get Clowney, is that he just screams 'Derrick Harvey'.

Yeah Im not liking Clowneys maturity level thus far. AFter caldwell inheriting Justin Blackmon, I think they will be very catious and take all things into consideration. A speeding ticket isnt a huge deal, but its showing he may be lacking maturity which could eventually lead to problems down the road. Justin Blackmon has made me very leary. We rolled the dice on him and got dealt.

The Jags extended Sen'Derrick Marks' contract.

You beat me to it  ;D The thing I like about the new coaching staff is they know exactly what they want. The know what scheme they are using, and what players fit that mold. Marks didnt do much of anything while he was with the Titans, then came here and exploded. Branch is another example of a player I think benefited from the new scheme. Im anxoius to see how the offense looks when they get finish with it.

And Jedd Fisch has stated he is going to start evaluating QB's as soon as the season is over. I wonder how Gabbert feels right now. Hes about the hit the unemployment line.  ;D

Had no idea Derek Cox got benched earlier this season. I checked his stats and he's been meh all season. Looks like we made the right decision.

Jags need to find a way to get Mike Evans WR from TAMU who declared for the draft over the weekend.

I think 3rd overall is a bit high, so trading back would be the ideal way to get him, but I think he is another Alshon Jeffery type receiver.

I just started checking out the WR draft class. I honestly think that our first few picks will be offense (with the exception of drafting a pass rusher aka Clowney). Our offense is on life support. We need another WR. Even if Blackmon is back, we cant depend on him at this point. BUT if he get straighten out, and we have him, Shorts, Sanders, and draft one more dynamic receiver, we will have a damn good core.

Nothing matters until they get a QB. I think that the 4 wins earlier made us feel good about the team but it doesn't change the facts. The team has an awful roster with very little talent and it starts at QB.

Hell yeah. Bring on the Cutlernator

The Jags 2014 schedule looks hella easier than 2013's (particularly the home schedule).

Home
HOU IND TEN CLE PIT DAL(in London) NYG MIA

Away
HOU IND TEN BAL CIN PHI WAS SD

I'm saying this now, and maybe I'm a tad delusional LOL, but 8-8 or better should be the expectation with a new QB in 2014. With freaking Henne starting, the Jags really should have went atleast 6-10 (with a FAR more tougher 2013 schedule) with those two pretty fluky loses at home towards the end (BUF and TEN). Esp with key starters out during those games (Shorts III, Cyprien etc).
