Speaking of DE, Jags are playing themselves right out of the Jadeveon Clowney sweepstakes.

I think he will still be there at #2 or #3

Looking at the way things are playing out, the teams that MAY get ahead of us in the draft )Houston, ATL, TAMPA, MIN), non of them are probably not going for DE with a top pick. Three of the four have QB issues as we speak.

Houston could go for a DE. There are a lot of QBs in this draft so one could secure another position and pick one up later.

Yeah they probably would. I kinda meant to say that LOL But I read this morning that the Texans have a long way to edge us for the top pick, so it probably wont happen.

Even after winning yesterday, the Jaguars are still in line for the first pick.

^^^Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised that we got some pass rush against Houston's O-Line with those pro-bowlers. In 2014 draft news, TB won a game, and MIN won 1/2 a game LOL

That definately good news. Even if ATL and Houston got ahead of us in the draft I wouldnt care too much. There are plenty of QB's to go around this next draft. Like someone stated before, there are no must haves at QB, but there are a ton of good ones. After seeing what an effective pass rush can do today, I am for going DE with the first pick. Because lets face, were going to have a rookie QB and an almost all rookies on the offense line. Were gonna need a defense that can keep us in the game when they arent playing well. I just want one more win in the division and thats it. The Colts have completely fell apart the past two weeks, and have been serve their asses,  so I see them as our next victim.  ;D
Could not disagree more with this.  Has JJ Watt made the Texans a great team?  The question is not how many QBs are available in this draft.  The question is do the Jags think one of them is a franchise guy.  If the Jags believe that player is there, then dropping spots in the draft is potentially crippling.

Well Ive been back and forth with the entire, do we go QB or DE in the first round thing. To be honest, I think it just all depends how things play out in the draft and where we are as a team when the season ends.

Folks may think I am crazy, but I'd take a QB in the first round, a QB in the fourth round and, if neither of those two look like a long term answer, take a QB in the first round in 2015.  We cannot rebuild without a QB.  No team in the league can.

Yes... your ass is crazy LMAO With a team this bad, we cant afford to waste draft picks. I think a better options for additional QB's would be undrafted rookies and free agency.

What we can't afford is to miss on another QB.  An undrafted QB is highly unlikely to ever take you to the playoffs.

It doesn't matter if we draft one in the first or the 4th round.  The only thing that matters is how well they perform on the pro level.  We've missed on 2 first round QBs while other teams have hit on 2nd round and up.

I don't think that there's any QB coming out that has the same feel as Luck.  And let's not forget that amount that the Redskins gave up to get the other "can't miss" guy in the draft....  How's that working for them right now?

So, while I agree with you that we'll never amount to more than a 6-10 - 10-6 team without getting that franchise guy, I still don't believe in reaching for a guy because he played well in college.  You need a guy that's going to fit your scheme - whether an Andrew Luck or a Russel Wilson.  That guy might be in this draft, buy I'm not sold on him not being there in the 2nd or third round.

If you can't tell, I'm sort of a BAP guy.  I also like the direction we're heading with our FA pickups.  Wait until the 2nd level, grab youngish guys that are getting "capped out" of their rookie contracts and take a shot.  I'll never be one for the huge "set the market" players.  Even though we have an entirely new regime, the amount of wasted time and money on our high profile FA pickups has left a nasty taste in my mouth.

Recent memory doesn't serve me very well, but aside from Henne and Poz, I can't think of any other FAs that have lasted or impacted the team as much as they.
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

And drafting three QB's doesnt gaurentee were going to the jackpot either

No, it does not.  There is no such thing as a guarantee, but it certainly increases the odds.

Not to mention, They traded up to get RG3 AND draft Kirk Cousins also. They wasted a ton of drafts picks for QB's and its not paying dividends.

Y'all are awfully quick to write off RG3, especially coming off a pretty serious knee injury.  And calling Cousins a wasted pick is crazy.  He's a good looking young QB who, at a minimum, will be traded for good value.
