College football is better when Miami is good.

Completely agree on this point.

As a Floridian, college football is at its best when Miami, Florida State, and Florida all field great teams.

My absolute ideal season is being set up now:

Miami beats Florida, and is undefeated heading into the Florida State game.

Florida State beats Miami.

Florida State beats Florida, crushing any remaining hopes and dreams they may have :)

Sad to say it, but Blaine Gabbert could probably learn a lot watching Jameis Winston in the pocket. Just night and day difference between how the two react to pressure.

All this happens and FSU gets left out of the National Championship.   Would be priceless!

Lake,  do your Cane threads smell like cedar or mothballs?   I'm sure they have been hiding in the back of your closet for about a decade!

All the Gators have done is won 2 MNCs and a Heisman in the past 7 years.

Over the past decade all the Cane and Noles have done is withered in mediocrity on the national level.

Enjoy the Gators down while you can it won't be for long!

My how times change. I can't help but notice that you sound like me from five years ago. :D  You know, in response to your team having a 6-6 or 5-7 season you go to the fallback argument of winning 5 national titles and playing in 8 title games over a 19 year period (83'-02').

Of course.  However, it wouldn't be because of them going undefeated.  It would be UM putting their little brother back in his place in the ACC championship game.

They still have some hope.  The outer bands from the hurricane at Doak in two weeks should result in some excess rain water refilling the swamp.  Since Miami has conveniently been excluded from UF's schedule the next few years they should be able to schedule a couple of Edward Waters Colleges over the next few years to earn some wins.

So you're saying scheduling teams like Savannah State or other ACC type competition like Wake, Pitt, or Syracuse...  :P

I see no resurgence for the Gators until Muschamp is gone. He is mediocre, a college version of Jack Del Rio.

please...that assumes that Miami beats Va Tech...one week after crawling back to the Everglades wounded!

and if they are so lucky to win that game, they end the season at Pitt on 11/29...it could be snowing up there (natural snow vs. the other stuff I referred to in a previous post).

says the Gator fan whose team schedules the likes of Georgia Southern, Jacksonville State, Furman, Appalchian State, Charleston Southern, and The Citadel...all since 2008 and all the week before playing FSU

I can't wait to hear Gator fans comments about FSU playing Idaho on 11/23 this year....at which point I will suggest they consult the 2014 Gator football schedule.

To be fair, UM doesn't duck teams. ;)  If UF was up for the pain, there would be no problem playing an annual game.

Last time I checked, Vick and his dogs are in Philly, helping me struggle in fantasy football games and Marino is at CBS. However, I'll admit that VaTech may be a challenge because the canes may still be hung over from partying after ruining FSU's season.

You are welcome to join my tailgate and stay in my house in Tallahassee during FSU/Miami weekend.

The more faces of Miami fans I can rub it in... the better!  :)
