I went back and read the Simmons column, and yes, it was lame. The only thing I laughed at was the idea of the league midway through the season forcing the worst team to sign and start Tebow. (And Simmons didn't even come up with that idea!)

Thank God LOL I know thats wrong but Im just tired. Although Henne is not much better, atleast he knows who to function as a NFL QB and the offense always looks better when hes playing, even if they dont win. Im just finally had it with the gabbert garbage. They might as well give the guy Stanza a swing at it. Nothing to lose at this point but another game

Is it really Gabbert's fault? When he was thrown in the fire his first year I think that ruined his chances to ever become a good QB. He's done imo which is totally not his fault, but he doesn't have it I don't think. So I just watch for the rookies to get better and next year's drafts.

Look, if you can't laugh about how terrible this team has been, then you can go on being miserable. And pointing out that the Broncos scored more points yesterday than the Jags have all season is simply stating the truth. This is nothing like the usual "LOL no one goes to Jags games" and "Jags are moving to London" bullshit you usually hear.

No other fanbase likes, and allows 'shots' at their team other than Jaguars fans. I betcha that Tampa fans don't even act that way. I'm not 'miserable' and I'm not gonna just take in some classless BS put out in the media. To me, there's nothing effing funny about that!!! Maybe there's a correlation with Jags fans on MJ that like hearing their team dissed...

Hahahahahaha!!! Did yall see them FUNNY Broncos twitter postings? So true, ouch. We gotta laugh at ourselves sometimes, hahahahahaha, that was SO funny, they scored more points in one game than we did in all of our games, hehehehehehe!!!!:)

I am well aware sports fans can be humorless killjoys when it comes to their favorite teams, I-10east. And I can't stand being around those people.

I can accept legitimate performance based criticism, as opposed to London/no fans ignorance, as Funwithteeth mentioned.

However, I understand I-10's point that a lot of Jaguars fans seem uniquely predisposed toward self-immolation that goes beyond gallows humor.  To that I would add that a lot of the national media's piling on the Jaguars, even when it's presented as a criticism of legitimate performance issues, is not-so-subtly driven by the "this hillbilly town doesn't deserve a football team!" mindset.

I like gallows humor when shared with fellow Jaguar fans.  It's a way for us to keep our sanity.  When it's 75 non-Jaguars fans stopping in my office to chortle about how bad my team is, my capacity for humor disappears.

Funwithteeth, Me not liking to hear my team DISSED equals to me being a 'killjoy'. For me not to be a 'killjoy' do I have to laugh at ALL responses that disses my hometown team (like MJ does) or just certain ones? You have a very weird taste in 'humor'. That twitter posting was about as 'funny' as a torture device....
