Jags fans to hold Tim Tebow rally

A group of Jacksonville Jaguars fans will hold a rally Monday in the EverBank Field parking lot at 3:16 p.m. ET to encourage the team to sign free-agent quarterback Tim Tebow, a former Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Florida.

A group of Jaguars fans will rally Monday to urge their team to sign Tim Tebow, who starred at the University of Florida but is currently a free agent.

The rally is scheduled to last three hours and 16 minutes. The starting time of the rally and the planned duration are a nod to a bible verse, John 3:16, which Tebow had inscribed on his eye black in the 2009 BCS National Championship Game.

Jacksonville is 0-2 after losing to Oakland 19-9 on Sunday. Starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert missed the game with a cut on his throwing hand. Backup quarterback Chad Henne got the start and completed 25 of 38 passes for 241 yards and a touchdown.

The group of Jaguars fans have created a website, jags-tebow.com. The mission, according to the website:

"Make it clear, we the fans, want the Jacksonville Jaguars to bring in Tim Tebow. You know you want to see this happen."

Not all Jaguars fans are behind the idea of Tebow joining the team. In May, a Jaguars booster club called the Bold City Brigade started a website, Evenifhesreleased.com, imploring the team not to sign the quarterback.

Tebow spent the offseason and training camp with the New England Patriots. He was released when the Patriots pared their roster to 53 players.

No other team has shown interest in signing the 26-year-old quarterback since his release.

Two can play at this game. I'm gonna throw a rally to encourage the Jags to sign Vince Young.

Brett Favre!
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

Orlando complaining about a game being shown, and Tebow rallies definitely qualifies as issues that really matter to Jaguars diehards, and the Jaguars community in general....Of course, Jag fans being 'monkey see, monkey do' falling for that BS national media propaganda "We deserve what we get" etc, SMH....

If that was intended as a dual-purpose commentary on the usual direction Russell's pass attempts took, it's brilliant.

Tebowites like to point out that Tebow won a playoff game. With that in mind, let's see if we can work out a trade with Washington for Rex Grossman. He started a Super Bowl!

I hear Todd Marinovich isn't too busy.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Dan Le Batard just suggested if you want to win your suicide pool, select whoever the Jags play.  They then said the NFL is great because a team like the Jags can suck this year, draft Bridgewater and then be instantly competing again.

evidently, a whopping 6 people showed up for the rally.

So at this point should the Jags

1. Lose in a Flurry for Murray,
2. Clown around for Clowney,
Or
3. Crap the beddy for Teddy?
