Green Lion Festival at Aardwolf!

The Florida Chapter of the US Green Building Association is organizing a pretty amazing event designed to introduce people interested in a sustainable city---from building materials and techniques to food sources and energy independence---to each other.  The Green Lion Festival is being hosted by Aardwolf Brewery and looks like a Saturday well spent!

Wow!  They have a lot of diverse green and outdoor groups coming.  It looks like it will be a lot of fun.  I love that they will even have a bike valet sponsored by Open Road Cycles of Avondale.

Thanks again for helping to promote our event MetroJax! We're hoping for great weather and a nice crowd to get together will all the cool green businesses and org's we've brought together. See you there!

Bill Hoff

I'm planning on stopping by! Never been to this event.

Bill, this is the first time we've ever done it. Thanks for giving it a try. We hope it is a success and if so we are already kicking around ideas for next year.

Tacachale

2 blocks from my house and Aardwolf in the early afternoon. You know Tacachale will be there.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

GrassLands Brewery

We're stoked to partner up with the ever-awesome folks at Sweet Grass Dairy to bring Jacksonville some Panhandle crafted beer and cheeses! Check us out for some innovative and tasty ales that pair with high quality hand-crafted cheeses!

Prost!

Also...just an FYI, we'll be bringing with us not 4, but 5 beers!

1. Groundation Amber Rye (A hoppy, malty & spicy American Amber)
2. Big Cypress IPA (A dry-hopped & keg-hopped West coast IPA)
3. Funky-Rye Saison (A funkified Belgian saison - backed up with a little rye spice)
4. Sweet Grass Dairy/GrassLands Brewing Co. Collaboration Tripel Ale (A traditional Belgian Tripel - spicy, estery, goodness)
5. Mystery Beer - gotta swing by our booth to get a taste! :)

Ales and cheeses?? That's just not fair. Rearranging my whole weekend to get to aardwolf on sat

GreenBear

A collaboration and a mystery beer...along with three other beers...Wow! I am impressed by what you are bringing over.

Sweet Grass has some of the best cheese around.  Their blue is wonderful.

We're here. I just did a round of the vendors.

A cheese maker from Thomasville.
Grassroots with some of the best gouda.
The Jacksonville zoo with a beautiful gray horned owl.
An electronic recycling company. Although, I don't think they are set up to receive electronics today.
A couple of food trucks.
UNF is out in force representing a couple of organizations.

Just getting started. The weather is hot enough to justify a cold beer at 11:45 AM. Festival ends at 4:30 but Aardwolf is open until late. If you haven't seen aardwolf yet today is the day to check it out.

Exposed ceiling. Worn brick walls. large wooden tables. huge bar. concrete floor.

For those who haven't checked out the Aardwolf's tap room on Hendricks Avenue, it's a great space.
