You can use the millage rates quoted in my links or in your story.  Chamber of Commerce announcements don't change the facts.  :)

so for someone with a 200k assessed home, they pay $500 less in SJC than Duval.   I guess that would factor for some.

My links are 2012 firgures right off of the county tax appraisers sites.

and for someone with a 600 thousand dollar home, over 30 years that would be 45 thousand dollars.

and for someone with a million dollar home it would be 75 thousand.

and thats not including the fees and the local sales taxes

people living in a 600k home or $1 million home are probably spending a good bit at St Johns Town Center, so you get their sales tax.

at pottery barn?  ok.  whatever you think, im sure.

do you think the person in the 600k or $1 million assessed home make the choice to move to SJC based on the discount in property tax?

Most people I know that moved to St. Johns County didn't do it for the taxes, they did it for the perceived quality of the schools.  In most cases, they're paying HOA and/or CDD fees that are far more than the property tax savings.  The ones I know that stayed in Duval County are either wealthy enough to afford private schools, or their kids haven't reached middle school age yet (when it gets harder to find A-rated schools in the county).

So now that your original point has been debunked, do you care to reverse your claim?

?   You are quoting a private non profit that has a disclaimer that their facts may be wrong...from 2010.

I quoted 2012 figures from the county web sites themselves.

You seem to have more work to do.

I have linked to the county sites themselves:

http://www.sjctax.us/media/MILLAGESHEET.pdf

http://www.coj.net/departments/property-appraiser/docs/2012-proposed-millage.aspx

I can't make this any simpler for you.  Others have told you the same thing.  Everyone in Jacksonville knows that what I am saying is true.  I can't help you with your obstinance.  I have repeatedly made my point.  Ask your friends in PV what their total millage is.  Ask your friend Ock what the total millage is at WGV.  It's not a secret.

You do understand there are many different taxing districts in each county, aren't you?

So then there is literally no reason for a wealthy person to move to st Johns county for the schools?  right?

This has just become silly.  You are wasting all of our time.

Ignoring reality is your specialty StephenDare!, not mine.  Clicking a link is apparently too much for you.  I will not bicker over your foolishness.

I have made..and proven my point, to everyone who was listening.  It is you who made a ridiculous claim that can not be proven true, and that commen sense finds outlandish.  Your refusal to acknowledge the obvious has simply bored the others here and irritated me mostly at my failure to just ignore you.

Actually, my argument was that most Duval residents who moved to bedroom communities in other counties did so in order to put their children in better schools and to live in a more pleasant environment.  I said that there are many reasons.

YOU said that the only reason business's and citizens moved was to escape paying taxes while enjoying the benefits that the cities offered.

The difference in property taxes is negligable, and I posted 2012 millage rates from the property appraisers office.

You posted a private firms 2010 firgures, which had a disclaimer about the accuracy of the states in its introduction.

Now, I really don't care what you want to fool yourself into believing.  You seem to be very used to doing that.  It is not my goal to embarrass you.  I would suggest that you just slow down a little bit.  Take a deep breath before making pronouncements.  Listen to others who have experience in the area of discussion.  Perhaps sit down with others and asking their honest opinion about your posting habits.  You might find yourself making some real connections with others.
