Did Hemming Plaza just dodge a bullet?

Hemming Park was remodeled in 1977 utilizing CETA funds, the plaza contribution was added later. There was an attempt to move the Confederate Statue to Confederate Park but there was strong opposition. The public restrooms were removed from the park, as was a very little used gazebo, the Chamber in their monthly magazine even at one time, had a 3D picture of the new park, including 3D glasses, there should probably be a copy in the library. The JFK monument taken out of the park in 77, was not replaced until 2003. A statue of Rep. Charlie Bennett was added in the 90s. It is probably time to rethink the park.

Meeting today at 3pm rm. 825 Ed Ball bldg. on Hemming Plaza. This was announced by Aundra Wallace at the 11/20/13 DIA board meeting. I got the impression that a final decision will be made. Any thoughts?

This is simply a pre-proposal conference for the RFP (P-10-14) that is currently on the street.

It is an opportunity for Q & A from prospective bidders.

I just walked through Hemming five minutes ago. It is still as pleasant , happy and busy place as when I filmed "death walk of death" (a stroll through hemming).  The fear mongering about this park is crazy.

I loved Death Walk Of Death.
The tourist would realize at once that he had struck the Land of Flowers - the City Beautiful!

If anyone is going to this please share what happened. Thanks!

most of the time, there are very few questions asked at pre-bid meetings.  Potential bidders don't want to alert others to their strategy
