Some positives and some negatives. I wrote a bunch about a recent DIA meeting and lost it or it was deleted. Saw Redman and again the song of excuses as it relates to Public Access and Economic opportunity on our St. Johns River our American Heritage River a Federal Initiative should have everyone immediately joining the RFA. Recreational Fishing Alliance. Anyone want to donate to 2009-442? Artificial Reef Trust Fund. 6 permitted reefs south of the Fuller Warren. Remember- Each launch is a spark.

After the meeting it was time to join in the celebration of One Spark. Walked through Hemming Plaza talking with my new river buddy and DIA Board member Tony A. We ran into Lisa Rinamon and Jimmy Orth both with the St. Johns Riverkeeper. Chatted about a bunch of topics and issues but what about the outrage and the dismissal of Vince Seibold for sharing a concern during a Public meeting.

^You must have accidentally lost it. No one deleted anything.

I will say that my DIA post may have been lost by me or it could have been deleted. But I had some deleted for sure on other threads and someone tell me that they had seen it and it's gone. I love MJ. But in all fairness do a gut check photo spread of all the business and housing stock that has been lost outside of this new DIA zone. Specifically north of Main St. And the MLK beltway. I know you are about the Urban Core and transit. I'm warming to rail. This community still has some serious problems. I still hope that the opportunity for open communication on this forum doesn't diminish. I'm glad I haven't been banned.

^We're well aware of the continued demolitions occurring outside of DT.  I'm personally, probably not going to be able to invest the time to track every single one but I have been compiling imagery of demolitions we've captured since 2004 (going back to the Urban Planet and MetJax days).  I plan to eventually run them as a photo thread.  All I can say, is it's depressing.

DIA board meeting today. Anyone going? Will Mr. Wallace be there?

Noone

Did anyone go to the 6/19/13 DIA Board meeting? I was there. Made me have flashbacks to the recent Backroom deal stuff that is happening in Waterways with our FEDERAL river. Are we that LOST? Will the city council FIND FIND Tues. night and approve 2013-380?

So right after the Hemming Plaza RFP update by Kelley Boree next on the agenda is the DIA CEO Aundra Wallace update by Oliver Barakat. This will be taken up on 6/26/13 at 5pm at a still to be announced location.

OK are you ready for this. Is this now going to be the trend. On the 6/19/13 agenda is the names of the Board members. Good. But Staff has been left off.

All one has to do is just go back to the June 6, 2013 DIA agenda meeting and not only are the Board members listed but staff is there as well. That is important.

So at the 6/19/13 meeting staff has been left off the agenda. So just going by the last agenda Jack Shad, Public Parking Officer was a No Show. Everyone else was there. maybe not the whole meeting but they were there.

So back to Action/Information item 3 on the agenda Aundra Wallace. During discussion and not on the agenda was the recognition that a new business is being created by former Chamber President Lee and that the business specializes in Corporate relocations. Board member Allegretti introduced the potential service that may assist Mr. Wallace at this time. The average relocation cost is about $100,000 and maybe it was just me but Ted Carter was joking or alluding to the relocation service and maybe this is something that can still be expanded on. I'm sure the community will hear more about this in 3 more days.

There are no handouts for the Public to even have a clue as to what is really going on. During Public Comments I shared with everyone the concerns about Public Access and economic opportunity to the river in this new 20 square mile zone. Also the upcoming Secret FIND list.

Anyone want to donate a buck to 2009-442? I'll deliver it personally on your behalf at city council or Waterways.

Will have more later.
Be concerned. We are so LOST.

Good article about Oliver Barakat's ideas as the Incoming DIA Chair. I'm a fan.

It all sounds good, although residential should've been a priority. That's where it all starts.

Its hard not to be a fan of Oliver.  He's quite simply one of the brightest fellows that the city has on its bench.

Indeed.

Looks like the DIA Board approved Wallace's salary of $178k with a $6k moving package. Start date of August 19th.
