I think we can say that we are definately getting Greg Jones and Darryl Smith. The free agent market this year is HORRIBLE. If they do get an offer from any other team, its not gonna be crap. Their is not much of a marketing for an aging fullback and lineback. They will end up re-signing with us.

I sure hope so!  It sounds like Gus is a believer in having a traditional fullback, which also increases the odds that we will ask Greg to stay.

Well he visited the Texans today. How dare he visit the enemy!? LOL hopefully hes just testing the waters. Also read today Khan is now the 5th richest owner in the NFL, even above Jerry Jones.  Justin durant is also on to his third team now.

well I'm sure Gus Bradley had something to do with the Seahawks signing Flynn in the first place last year....of course that didn't work out so well for Matt since Ruseell Wilson got the nod

I doubt that seeing as how he was the defensive coordinator in Seattle.

I wouldnt say Bradley had something to do with Seattle getting him, but he definately has something to with talks about him being traded to Jax  ;D Which Im okay with. Its already reported that most likely someone will give up a late round pick for him at most, and Im cool with that. And Im not concerned about his salary. If he wins the QB competition, some money will be freed up by releasing Henne or Gabbert anyways. (although releasing Henne would make the most money avaiable). Anything is better than a Tebow trade  :o

I'm sure the Flynn move was all on Carroll & the GM.

Caldwell says we're not going to be big players in free agency and this would certainly be a bold move. Plus this just seems like lazy journalism.  "Jacksonville needs a qb... oh and they've got that coach from Seattle!"
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

Being that Flynn is not a free agent, this wouldnt be considered a free agency move. Its just a trade,

With insight like that, I'm surprised that ESPN isn't ringing your phone off the hook.   Hell, Shwaz, they'll probably give your own show in the 8-9 slot and let you pick the days you want to air it.   ;D

I have no problem with that.  Why pay a FB?  Very good player for the Jags and I wish him well.

I just hate to see him go. Hes been one of the most undervalued players in the league since he was drafted. My teal blood just doesnt like him going to the Texans LOL but I we knew his pay was going to be issue from start. His performance deserve the pay, but his position and age takes all that away.

I'll tell you why! Because if and when the zombie apocalypse hits #33 would've protected all of Jacksonville!!

Last season I watched the players come through the new 'tunnel' at the Sea Best area... I got to see Greg up close and man is that dude jacked! Honestly the most physically fit most muscular person that I've ever seen.

In all seriousness, G Jones is still playing at high level and our success running the ball (when we have a true RB that's also healthy) is in large part because of him. He's also a dominant pass blocker on a team without any real dominant pass blockers.

Now I'm going to have to learn to spell Ta'ufo'ou'aeiou's name.

My favorite line about Greg ever, from this preseason in Oehser's commentary: "Osi Umenyiora is trying to get chippy with Greg Jones.  Osi is not making a very good decision."
