Terrence Knighton signed with the Broncos.

I know he didn't have a very good 2011 or 2012, but I am going to be sad and miss him anyway.

Yeah he was still one my fav's. But that how the business is. This is our first TRUE rebuild. Man, they are dropping like flies around there. Im happy though, its time to do it the right way, FINALLY. This franchise has been plagued with bad drafting and bad contracts for a decade. I can not wait to see how the team turns out when the season starts. Gonna be a completely different team for sure. I also see were trying to sign Justin Forsett. he was the one who had that phantom touchdown against the Lions on Thanksgiving. Its odd, but he is EXTREMELY good but has been a bit of a journeyman since he was drafted. He would definately be a good addition to MJD in the backfield.

Intellectually I know we are doing it the right way.  Emotionally I have a hard time cutting ties to, well, almost any Jaguar not named Matt Turk.

I like Forsett.  I have always liked him.  I think he's a good fit.  We've been weak in the return game and haven't had a real 3rd down back in quite a while.  I thought Deji Karim would be that after his rookie year, until he spent his sophomore year proving he wasn't.

Is Forsett the lions RB with the possible concussion issues?

No. He played for the Texans last year. He played for the seahawks also.

Yeah my emotions are a little numb right now. Weve never had a true house cleaning and it kind of gut wrenching. You know its right, but it seems so wrong!  ;D

Forsett is a solid backup. Hayes is solid also. I would expect more signings like this.

I think the Lions guy to whom you're referring is Jahvid Best.  Forsett has been a kick returner/situational back for several years (Seattle and then Houston).  Good receiver out of the backfield, runs hard, pretty good returner.  I always liked his style.

Report: Derek Cox gets four years, $20 million with Chargers

Posted by Curtis Crabtree on March 14, 2013, 1:51 AM EDT

AP
Former Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Derek Cox has agreed to terms on a new contract with the San Diego Chargers and is expected to sign it when he arrives in Southern California on Thursday.

The move by the Chargers to add a fourth year to the contract appears to be the final move to get the deal done. According to Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune, added another year to the deal Wednesday night. The deal ultimately winds up being for four years and $20 million with a $5.2 million signing bonus. Cox will get $10.25 million fully guaranteed with all of the guaranteed money loaded into the first two years of the contract.

With all the guaranteed money coming in the first two years, the addition of a fourth year to the contract won’t ultimately be problematic for San Diego. If they chose to release him after three seasons, the cap hit in year four would be minimal.

Cox has 12 interceptions over the last four season with the Jaguars. He recorded four interceptions a season in 2009, 2010 and 2012. He only played six games in 2011 before landing on injured reserve.
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Well I have a few comments. Pot Roast is acting....umm... like an ass somewhat. You know how players always say thank you, I 'll mss you, thanks for the opportunity? Well I went on his twitter and he just kept raving about how happy he is to be Bronco. Even the article I read on the times union he was just raving about the Broncos. Hey, whatever. We are the ones that took a chance on him, put up with his fat ass not being able to control his weight and him almost losing a damn eye. He should be more than grateful. And its not like he got a stellar deal. Two Years, 4.5 milion dollars. I do believe we probably gave him a reasonable deal and he just chose to leave.

On a side note, Caldwell stated that robinson did not fit their vision as far as receivers. Hell, beside Shorts and Blackmon, Robinson looks like a rookie. I think they want speed and/or power, and Robinson is just okay in those catergories. Shorts is a sever deep threat, fast, and is very good at making people miss tackles. And Blackmon has great hands and is a freaking bull on the field. Day by day Im starting to understand their vision more. They fast a big, fast, physical team on both sides of the ball.

One of my friends at the stadium is friendly with Knighton and his mother and sister - she told me that he was very close to Del Rio, very hurt that Del Rio was fired last year, and that entirely drove his decision.

Hey atleast somebody liked Del Rio  ;D But seriously. He could have atleast said thanks. He was a fan favorite and the franchise was patient with him throught a lot. Show some form of gratitude, know what I mean?

I am a believer in the adage that the winning team on signing day is the losing team three years later.  Big free agent signings should only be done when your team is in big time contention.

Exactly right. Teams like the 49ers and Seahawks making big free agent moves make sense. They built their team through the draft, now their contending. So they can spend big in free agency because their core team is set. but you know there are so many idiots out there that are complaining. It hilarious how everyone said "yeah please blow it, let all of them go." Now weve done just that, now everyone is whining.. There are not many good players on any 2-14 team. Good drafting can turn things around quick. The Colts looked completely inept in 2011, but they had a VERY good draft and they turned the corner. Given, their roster was still in a bit better shape than ours is now, but you get my point.
