Noticed on my way from the beach.  I also noticed the construction on the SS around Gate and Southside, but honestly none of it impressed me enough to capture any photos.

Is this the expansion of the hospital that will take it to 16 floors?

The buildings were designed from the beginning to be added to from atop. They have already added several floors to the Stabile Building (Administration) and now more floors to the Mayo Building (the actual hospital)

The occupancy rate at Mayo has been running pretty high ever since they sold St Lukes to St Vincents and formally opened the new hospital.

Also Mayo is not just a local health care provider, they attract patients globally to their 3 campuses in the US.  That is why they have 5 hotels near the Jax complex. (2 on campus, 3 within 5 minutes)

And what most people don't know is they recently bought out a hospital in Waycross.

Acquisitions represent a small part of Mayo Clinic’s expansion strategy. Most of the expansion in the Midwest, around the system’s home base of Rochester, Minn., has been through affiliations with health care providers.
Brigham said Mayo is considering several affiliations and would evaluate acquisitions case by case. An affiliation gives a health care facility the Mayo Clinic name, support and access to services without Mayo having to assume its assets.
“In light of the health care environment, the emphasis has shifted to affiliations in recent months,” Brigham said. “I think that just because of the fact there’s less absolute certainty about what to expect in the reimbursement world, the affiliation model offers a lot of advantages.”

My wife and I have our primary care at Mayo, and I can tell you it can run pretty tight over there since it's always so busy. Evidently this expansion should help cut that back when it's done.
