What exactly is this guy doing for the people of Jacksonville? Isn't it about time we start holding him accountable for his campaign promises? If not, why not get rid of him?

^^^Is everything all doom and gloom with you when it concerns Jax? I haven't read one objective Jax post from you yet, it's always all sourgrapes, and pessimism; That's very notable considering that you are so new to MJ. I don't mean to come off too harsh, but really, get rid of the mayor already? IMO the mayor has been working steadily to help improve downtown and the surrounding areas with all kinds of projects, and that downtown task force. Not to mention that we don't exactly have a municipal surplus. If you don't believe me, check the monthly construction updates. I guess nothing doesn't matter if it isn't a yuppie-esque DT IKEA, Starbucks, or Whole Foods....

While I don't think he has really done much and he and his staff do not appear to be up to the task at times, he hasn't done anything that warrants a recall election.
Neither Brown nor Hogan was my first choice for Mayor.

Mine either. I wanted Audrey in office. Brown was the lesser of two evils. Hogan scared the crap outta me and I could vote for him if my life depended on it.

I think Mayor Alvin has done a good job considering he inherited a city that went through 8 years of Johnny DO-NOTHING-FOR-THE-PEOPLE Peyton.  The financial collapse, and Peyton's INSANE move of telling the key US Naval air base in America that they were not welcome in Jacksonville!  The only thing that grew under Johnny Boy was asphalt and concrete.

Alvin could be more approachable, he could listen to citizens at town hall meetings, fireside chats, etc...  It's got to be hard to feed the desires of the people when the last one in the kitchen left the cupboards bare.

I'm very sorry I voted for Alvin Brown, lightweight, homophobic, regressive, do-nothing mayor of Jacksonville. He's left the urban core to die on the vine. When Carmines wanted to move to Springfield, he was too 'busy' to make the deal. He's taken the campaign money from the gay community and __________ . Of the top 70 cities, Jacksonville is one of only TWO that doesn't protect its LGBT community--and he worked hard behind the scenes to make sure the exorcists and baptist klansman kept that in place. He's provided absolutely not a shred of leadership or inspiration other than posing for photo ops and strutting around The Players tournament with his posse. This city needed someone great and all they got was an ego with no ideas and no understanding of what makes a city pulse. And what an insult to ignore President Obama. While the world moves forward, Alvin Brown sides with the past.

Kreger, you are right on. Thank you for posting. Audrey Moran, please run next time, we need a real mayor!

Elaine Brown is leading the fundraising draft to get her into the race apparently.

Has Mullaney promised us he won't run this time?:)
