I'm definitely not on board with letting MJD go. I'm not sure I'd want to draft a RB high when there's so many other positions of need on this team.

Why let him go, he still has another year on his contract.  And I think you're starting to see that an RB taken in the first or second day isn't that much better than the ones taken on day 3 & 4.

QuoteAs far as Greg Jones, I only mentioned him because surprisingly he's the highest paid FB in the NFL. I'd hope he'd take a reasonable deal and come back and play for the Jags. He won't get another big payday I would guess.

I agree with this.  Probably take a reduced deal to keep playing, but MM is on record saying that he's big on the FB position.  Besides....   Who in their right mind is going to tell G. Jones he's been released?   ;D

QuoteWhat do you guys think about the Jags going after Dwayne Bowe if the Chiefs would let him go for say a 3rd round pick? Of course we'd have to sign him to a new deal, but he's better than any 3rd rounder we'd get next year I'm sure and he's a proven #1 big WR.

I don't agree with this.  I like the guy as a player, but you can see how he reacts when the chips are down.  Not saying they will be next year, but 'demanding' to be released by KC....  C'mon man.  Shut your mouth, do your job and have your agent find you a team that'll be willing to deal after you're a FA.

One thing I will say is Cecil Shorts had came out of nowhere. After a terrible and at times comical rookie season, He's been kicking ass and taking names. Were in the week 9 of the season, and he is still making big plays, which means its for real. At first I was thing it was luck, but his consistancy has proved otherwise, and he seems to keep getting better. If he continues like this, he will be the best receiver weve had since Jimmy left the building. If you think back over the past 10 years,  outside of Jimmy we have had ZERO deep threats at WR.

I'm so glad that this game is in Everbank Field, and not Ford Field so I don't have to hear an announcer cry about how many injuries the Lions have if it's a close game. I counted on four occasions that this one announcer mentioned the Packers injuries; Hell, even the other announcer had to set him straight by saying that Jax isn't exactly unscathed. When the Jags keep it close or win, it's because of the other team injuries, but when we are injured, it's no excuses for losing, and no one from the media mentions the Jags weakened positions. ::)

Rob Riggles picks on Fox was pretty funny on week eight; It is the third week in a row that he said a joke about the Jaguars, and they are over there covering the NFC. I am numb to the national media's 'no Jag fans exist' jokes. Unfortunately when we play the Niners next year during that week, we will be known as the 'Jaggy-wires' *sigh*

I know right? After Sunday's game, I dont why people just wont admit that we played our asses off. But it is what it is I guess. I wasnt going to go sunday, but after the green bay game they gave me a little hope. LOL Im just happy we embarassed the Packers. You have to think, this is the same team who kick the almighty Texans to sleep.

I'll be out there Sunday. Seems like it'll be perfect weather too. I'm feeling so good about it that I decided to put Shorts in my starting lineup for one of my fantasy teams this week :)

Just wanted to point out some money related things Vito tweeted today.

QuoteJags seem to have their own stimulus program: $10 mil guaranteed for Aaron Kampman, who was cut, $11.5 guaranteed for Clint Session on PUP. And $14 million guaranteed for Laurent Robinson, who lost outside X job to Cox and is competing for slot job. And three years $13.5 million for Aaron Ross, who is nickel back. That's about $40 million guaranteed for Kampman, Session, Robinson and Thomas.

I'm sure he meant "Shorts" instead of Cox in relation to Robinson.

Kampman - ACL (un-injured knee), Session - Concussion, Robinson - Concussion, Ross - We're in Nickel probably 1-2 downs every series, Thomas - lost his job (no excuse here)

Other than Thomas.... was there a point?

Yeah other than Thomas, there rest of Vito message was pointless. You cant predict injuries. Yes we knew Kampman had knee surgery, but didnt expect him to blow the other one. Concussions are unpreticble. And why was ross even mentioned???

lol you guys don't think Ross is overpaid?? I'll respectfully disagree on that one. Just my opinion. Same with Robinson even despite him not playing lately.

I think I've seen maybe ONE good play from Ross all season. I don't think he deserves any more than Scobee is making.

Is it just me, but I LOVE Colts Vs Jags game. Im hyped for the game Thursday as if tomorrows game does not exist. I have always loved playing them. The games were always competitive, even if the Colts did win most of the times. I dont know, maybe Im just lame.  ;D
