I really like Kahn, but I still think he moves the team to London if the business opportunity proves viable.  He can turn a $700 million asset into a $1.5 billion one simply by moving addresses.  The stadium lease handcuffs become a non-issue at that point.

Forbes did a pretty good job of breaking down the whole NFL team to London thing.

IMO, he kind of killed his entire argument at the end when he noted that the 50% tax rate was used for illustrative purpose only....  What's the actual tax rate?

And seriously, we're talking about the NFL!  How much public funding do they get here that they wouldn't be able to get abroad.

It's time to coerce some more friends to buy season tickets.

For any earned income over and above 150,000 pounds in a year, the rate is in fact 50%, I believe.  (Lower rate for earnings below 150,000 pounds and for investment income.)

I'm posting this here because I think this draws very similar parallels to the "Racist Comments" quoted in the Khan story.

QuoteMyers: Oh is that right? You know, I got that from the National Weather Service Chat bulletin board. It was right on there, it said three feet of water on the floor. I don't know if there's conflicting reports or not.

Apparently internet comments ARE reputable sources now. Honestly it's just sad.

Can we please cease the talk of the Jaguars moving, or as Khan call it having "move-a-phobia"? People think the "Tebow to Jax" comments are annoying, the Jags moving talk is on a whole other level of teeth clinching agitation. From now on, until something is said from Khan himself, I will not even acknowledge "Jags moving talk" from any source, including our great 'friends' in the national media.

So our stupid ass local media (action news) starts a rumor on twitter that the Jags are talking to the Jets about Tebow. But NFL.com has already denounced it saying it is just a rumor and the Jets and Jags have not talked. The Jets already made it clear they were not trading Tebow. To make the rumor even more stupid, why would we trade Thomas for a draft pick, then give away a draft pick for tebow? I swear I hate this city sometimes......  ???

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

The tone of all national media coverage of this concept is "Sure, this guy can't play quarterback in the NFL, but that minor-league outfit down in Jacksonville is so desperate, they'll take him!"

And rather than pushing back against this condescending attitude toward the city and franchise, the Jacksonville media actively encourages it.

HOW DO PEOPLE NOT SEE THIS.

I'm kinda mad we only got a 5th rounder for Thomas. Not to mention that stupid signing bonus down the drain now. Makes Gene look that much more clueless.

With E. Monroe, Cox, Rasheen, Daryl Smith, Pot Roast, Greg Jones, Meester and Rashad Jennings contracts about to be up, who would you go out of your way to give a new contract to? I'd say Monroe, Cox, D. Smith if he's healthy and low ball Jennings.

You're kidding, right?  I'm ecstatic we got at least a 5th for him - even if it's not until 2014.

He was a 4th rounder with a huge contract for what his on the field job is.  If I'm not mistaken, that's the last WW, give me one good year and I'll give you a hell of a raise, guy on the team.

Call GS what you will, but I don't think he was the one awarding these huge contracts based off of one solid year of performance (Garrard, M80, Lewis).  You saw how the MJD hold-out went.

And since we're back playing the hindsight game again - do you think that GS would have a job today if we had paid the $80MM for a broken Mario Williams?  (Even though you can't predict injuries, you have to blame someone.)

^^^I'm with you on that. Receiving a 5th rounder is about right for Thomas.

Right!! Those contract extension's were all Wayne Weaver. As soon as he announced he was selling the team he fired the coaching staff, extended Gene Contract, and extended some of the players contracts also. Not to mention he was going to extend MJD contract as well. Mike Thomas ext is not on Gene, that was Wayne Weaver all the way.

Getting anything for Thomas is a miracle. A fifth rounder is great. Monroe will get a new deal for sure. Cox deserves one for his play but he is hurt alot and that has to factor into the decision. Before this year, I'd say Pot Roast was a gimme but he hasn't played well. I'd maybe see if he'll sign a high incentive short term deal.

Mathis and Meester are gone. I would not be shocked to see both retire this offseason, especially Meester. The good news there is they have a rookie in Mike Brewster that looks like he could be a long term answer at that position.

Greg is probably gone. I think you can get Jennings back with a modest deal, trade Mojo and draft a running back in the first few rounds and be okay.
