Will be great with that big globe on top. The city needs to help make this happen.

Aww, Man! I wanted to see this building demolished like everything else downtown. ;)

Now before you all get mad, Im only kidding.  This almost sounds too good to be true, especially the number of jobs that will be created. I hope to God this works.

Bless you, Latitude 30!

You better be kidding ;)  LOL

Actually the HB is not one of my favorite buildings in DT.  But this would be an awesome fit.   Tremendous news! I really hope it happens :)

I was just thinking the same thing. It is in very close proximity to the stadium. People already crowd the one on the southside on sunday. Imagine having one up the street and around the corner from the stadium.

I guess that's true...if you consider over a mile just up the street / around the corner

If JSO didn't have the streets set up for an evacuation as if there was a natural disaster heading our way, it wouldn't be such a bad walk between the two.

We just need some street activity to make the walk interesting and it will seem like just up the street / around the corner.

What a great benefit for Downtown. Bring on the street car from the Prime Osborn to the stadium on Bay. Where is CSX?

Well, some actual activity around the shipyards (and leading into Metro Park) would def help. Leaving it as a giant vacant grassy hole downtown doesn't do anything for anyone. And Met Park is ALWAYS dead as a doornail. That whole area is completely underutilized & makes it feel like you're walking through a post apocalyptic urban wasteland. Hence why no one does it. And Philip J is the same way. If the city would actually do some things you'd see more people using it. Its the same reason why no one walks from Springfield to DT (and vise versa). Everything is completely cutoff.

Streetcar/rail would help too, but good luck with that one.

Confused on how CSX comes into the picture here.  As of their location, 500 Water St.

Cesery has had a Latitude 30-esque model in mind for The Library for sometime.....

This was published in Jan 2011:

QuoteSpeaking of The Library…..

The Library is something completely different. We bought into “The Library”, the old Haydon Burns public library, in 2007. It’s such a unique building, a landmark, so it was a good fit for what we do.

Have you heard of Latitude 30, the new entertainment venue that just opened on the Southside? When The Library is finished, it’ll be somewhat similar to that. Food and drinks, bowling, live music, pool tables, karaoke, and even a professional recording studio.

This would be awesome. I hope that everything goes through as planned.

Dang it DD you beat me to it! haha. this could be huge for downtown.
Parking would be a bitch!

You should start you own LLC.  You could call it We Love Downtown and make it your mission to prevent anything beneficial from happening downtown due to potential parking problems.

Weren't you all for Mellow Mushroom in Avondale If_I_Loved_you?  Seems to me downtown with its sea of parking lots would have no problem accomadating more cars after all the workers abandon it @ 5PM.  Add in some transit and we could connect this place from stadium, through Lat 30 and bars, through Brooklyn to connect to Riverside and Avondale shops.

I have my own reasons for Mellow Mushroom my friend. Look at the old library and how close it is to The Florida Theater? Parking would be a bitch and besides some of these lots are for downtown workes also. The latitude 30 over on 10370 Philips Hwy Jax fl 32256 is open Sunday - Wednesday: 11am - 12am & Thursday - Saturday 11am - 2am. So unless latitude 30 doesn't open until after 5pm parking Will be a bitch!

Parador is about to add another 500 spaces to downtown's parking supply. We already have twice as many spaces as people in the Northbank. Parking is the least of downtown's problems.

I officially hate anyone who brings up parking.

Ride a fucking bike people, walk, park farther away, or stay home and live in a bubble.

America and the culture of convenience. Jesus.

I have an idea: use ALL that pent up anxious energy about parking and apply it to demanding better transit...

Between 11AM - 5PM your mainly going to get a lunch / business crowd.  These people likely are going to have they own parking spots already set downtown.  5PM on there is a parking garage right next door and one about a block away across from Florida Theatre.  Encourage these to be open and available with modern (read: credit card accepting) payment systems.  Combine those garages with street parking and various surface lots.  Now, add some foot based JSO patrols and your good.

Those are the same people who circle the parking lot at the gym looking for a spot close to the entrance...not that I go to the gym, but that's what I hear...
