^Those older ladies were put out with the trash, like anyone else who's ever been downsized.

Yep.. that is life.  Hey.. its cheaper to restore and add on than demo, pay an impact fee just to place a new building there. so I hope the sign AND the building are restored ( and added on to if necessary) .

I think opinions of both sides of the issue are being weighed by Krispy Kreme.

We need to stop replacing every friggin building on the planet simply because it is old or the inside is not up to par... That what remodeling is for.   Every demolition fills more landfill space.   So it is more than simply saving the building.... which there is NO GOOD REASON to destroy in this case.

Do you remember back when this KK was open it was small inside and parking was a joke because KK had so many of their own trucks on the left side of the building. So KK wants to add a drive Thur which seems for them to do this the design would be like the one off of San Jose Blvd? But I'm guessing and lets not stop them from not coming back to the Westside a lot of Fat and happy people what fresh hot donuts once more. I was up in Amelia Island a couple of weeks ago and I stopped at the Harris Teeter and picked up what I thought were fresh KK's in a box after paying and getting back in my car. I began to eat them as I drove back on A1A let me tell you these donuts sucked but ate three any way and throw the rest away. I WANT MY FLESH HOT DONUTS TO RETURN TO THE WESTSIDE SO IF KK WANTS THE OLD BUILDING GONE SO BE IT! Thank You and my God bless you :)

We both win when KK returns new or old building remodeled see I can bend a little. I JUST WANT MY HOT DONUTS BACK. I'm sleepy and since NotNow is back on site its time for bed. Goodnight to all the good people of Jacksonville and the bad people God has a place for you one day unless you change. Amen :)

Timkin

I will agree on the hot donuts.

Because that location was at one time a distribution (?)  point for KK.. I can see where you think it might not be feasible to save the building.

Not sure why NotNow's presence on the site is a deterrent but whatever.   I know there are some here who don't like me either.  Not that I lose any sleep over it :) .

I happen to think Not Now is a good person.

IILY,  Someone gave me a tip about KK donuts that I have not tried yet.  He said that 15 seconds in the microwave will make them taste just like they came from the fryer.  I'm afraid to try it.
When all else fails hug the dog.

It's definitely better than cold.  But nothing is better than hot out of the fryer.

It's pretty damn close to the real deal....obviously, who wouldn't prefer a fresh from the fryer one, BUT, the microwaved one is daaaaaamn good. I'd say it's a 7-9/10 when comparing it to the 10/10 fried one.

Tell me about it. Ive been in the trash with those ladies twice in the last 10 years.

(I'd say something about Obamanomics, but this is about Krispy Kreme)  ;)

True. On the other hand, day old KKs that were put in the refrigerator overnight have unique endearing qualities all their own.  :)

HURRY UP & BUILD THE PLACE, KK! WE'RE GETTING IMPATIENT.

IILY said the old building was tiny inside...from the first post I understand the new building will be just over HALF the size of the old one.. ???

Nobody mentioned the old red neon donut sign.  The new "Hot Now" sign that the company installs just isn't the same..probably LED.
I always wondered who got the Red Donut when they closed.
