Farm to Truck Day Sunday August 26th.

The first Farm to Truck Day will take place this Sunday from 8AM until 2PM at the Jacksonville Farmers Market located on 1810 West Beaver Street. 

Mike B’s (winner of 'best sandwich' at the Jacksonville Food Truck championship) will be the first food truck to operate from the Jacksonville Farmers Market during this special event.  He will be offering a special menu item based on YOUR votes (held over a 4 day period on www.facebook.com/JaxTruckies) from seasonal ingredients sold at the Jacksonville Farmers Market. 

The special of the day is a Summer Fiesta- guacamole infused with grilled Mayport shrimp served with freshly made salsa and corn tortilla chips. 

Come out and have a great breakfast or lunch from Mike B’s and grab some fantastic produce. 

Post a picture of a meal you prepared from items purchased Sunday from the market on our Facebook page and we’ll vote on the best meal.  Winner will receive a Jax Truckies tshirt!

Jax Truckies and Jacksonville Farmers Market welcome Mike B's to JFM today (Sunday), serving breakfast through lunch, 8 AM to 2 PM, and featuring a "Farm to Truck" special as noted by Fieldafm.  Come by for a great meal and shop JFM for local, ethnic, organic & specialty produce, agricultural, & other food items.  JFM is Florida's oldest public farmers market and is open EVERY day of the year, dawn to dusk.  Farmers and vendors wholesale to many of Jax's finest restaurants, caterers, groups, and suburban retailers in addition to retailing direct to the public at up to 70+% less than other venues.

We are scheduling Mike B's about once a month and hope to feature food trucks regularly on the remaining Sundays. Pictures are up on the facebook page but we had an incredible response.  Many people were introduced to the Jacksonville Farmers Market for the first time.  Mike B's sold out of all of the 'farm to truck' items.

We plan to do a few more of these.  This is a win-win partnership in which local businesses (farmers, vendors and food trucks) all benefit and consumers enjoy great, fresh foods and cheap produce.

We are having a contest on our Facebook page over the weekend.  We'll vote on the best meal prepared from items purchased at the farmers market during Farm to Food Truck Day.  Pictures will be up Sunday!

Glad it went well.  While in Atlanta, I took a look at Mike B's menu and wished I was there. Also, the farmer's market is a cool place and great urban core amenity to have.  It still surprises me to this day that more residents don't know about it.

I stopped in around 2pm as they were shutting down...I heard the farm-to-truck things were sold out very early

Me and the wife had lunch there Sunday. We got the farm-to-truck item, the Mike B's signature Cleveland sandwich along with a zucchini-vanilla cupcake, all that for only $13.50.

Not only that but we left with a bag full of groceries for $10. We may make it up there pretty much every weekend to get our weekly supply of fruits and veggies. We highly recommend it. A really wide selection and about half price to what you pay at Publix.
