Man, between the MJD impasse looking like it has no end in sight, and Blackmon supposedly having all kinds of trouble with the routes (so says USA Today), I'm really hoping everything comes together by Game 1.

I really believe that MoJo will come to his sences and show up to camp.  He strikes me as a true team player that would not want to set his team back.  Adn I'm sure he would do whatever it took to have a superbowl ring to flash.

He'll be there.  As Chicken Joe would say "I can feel it in my nuggets."

From the TU on the 24th, and I agree 1000 percent! Sorry MJD!:

QuoteWe're about to find out who has the most willpower.

Jaguars training camp opens Friday and with it comes one of the biggest questions of the offseason.

Running back Maurice Jones-Drew has been a no-show in the Jaguars' offseason workouts because he wants a new contract. Speculation, recently from former Jaguars back Fred Taylor on 1010XL, is that the situation is not close to a resolution.

If Jones-Drew's approach is that he won't play again unless he gets a big pay raise, then trade him.

Work the phones and get him out of town quick.

The last thing that a new coaching staff and a new owner need is this kind of cloud hovering over the team for any sort of time. Marshall Faulk forced his way out of Indianapolis during the middle of his career in a contract squabble, and the Jaguars would be foolish not to explore a similar path with Jones-Drew if he chooses to sit out in a protest about money.

Jones-Drew's own words to the NFL Network on June 20 â€" "This is the side of the NFL that's just as real as Sunday" â€" were prophetic.

It is strictly business, which is why the Jaguars can't budge.

Jones-Drew is still an elite NFL back. He led the league with 1,606 rushing yards last season.

But I also think that his best years are behind, not in front of him.

Unless Jones-Drew proves to be a rare exception to a trend that's been proven time and again about the decline of backs with his kind of mileage, then it's a no-brainer.

Jones-Drew might have played his way into a new contract, but there's no way that the Jaguars should give him one.

Blackmon will be okay. Mularkey said after the DUI, he has looked alot better and he was very focused. As far as Mojo, the tone of the city today is not very good. When I came into work everybody is talking about it, and they are upset with him, not the franchise. (and Im saying that nicely, everyone is really pissed is more like it). I feel its extremely unfair to take the new coaching staff and ownership through this. We went through hell last year, and to he wants to start this crap. Its not about you MJD!!! (selfish as hell) I think its our fault though. under WW and JDR, he was the big man on campus and we pretty much let him do what he wanted. We also spoiled him with a huge contract that he techinally had not earned yet back when he was a rookie. I hate to say it, but we created a monster.

MJD earned 21 million on the front end of his contract, he has been paid for his services. Why not pay him again after 2012 if he breaks 2000 yards? He created a contract front loaded with benefits and it was his doing.

And if his vision involves putting one of those Jaguar logo waterfalls in my house, I support his foresight.

Khan has made it clear through his actions and his words that he's committed to Jacksonville, and is making every effort to make it work here. Let's just hope our local government doesn't destroy what he's building with small minded politics.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

I'm worried they won't want to step OUT of the locker room!  Holy cow that place is sexy!

fsujax

It does look good, but frankly I want to see improvement on the field and the stadium for all the fans.

^ Happy players play harder.....   ;-)

I would prefer talented players playing better over happy players.
