I love the Cummer Gardens and had no idea they'd retained their original layout for over a century. Pretty cool. I think the Gardens might be my favorite part of the Cummer. That and the old preserved office.

Have you seen the needlepoint hanging in that room, of the gardens?  To know it was done by Ninah Cummer herself gives me chills.

I too am a steward of an O.C. Simonds landscape. Unfortunately, I have not visited Cummer Gardens, yet, except via books and the internet. Assuming, Simonds would not execute a garden "proper" plan but would have an employee prepare a garden design within his landscape plan do you know who his employee was who assisted on the Cummer property, if that is in deed the case?   Beautiful photos and great content, thank you.

I know this sliver of waterfront is "behind" the RedCross station, so the reasoning for my question?
