Trump Tower Tampa Bits the Dust

We're not the only city with losing a few high profile urban highrise projects...

Unfrotunately for Tampa, they'll be left will a hole in the ground, since construction had started.

Back in March I wrote a column on this pipe dream, a 52-story condo with prices starting in the million-dollar range. Did anyone really think downtown Tampa could support something like this? The real estate agent told me people would be moving in by mid 2009. I said I

I guess to see the bright side, Jax won't be even further behind Tampa.  Hopefully Kuhn will come through for us and get Riverwatch airborn to fill another gap in the skyline.

In order to keep Jacksonville at a comparable level, maybe it would be easier to sabotage other cities projects instead of bringing things here...

The Donald bailed after construction had begun?  I'm sure there are plenty of Tampa people feeling sick over this.  Personally, I thought the buildings design was horrible.  The cathedral like rounded top was way off for me.
