I love that also(check out my signature LOL). They are pulling out all stops. This is the piece of the puzzle that has been missing. Under WW, the business side of the organization was very stale and they did not step outside the box, EVER. As a small market, we have to work harder to sell ourselves.

Now if we could only get rid of Gene and we'd truly have a new start. Sorry, had to add that in :)

Im starting to agree with you on that. LOL It's time for some new blood from top to bottom. He's not by far from the worse GM, but I want something new.

Jaguars could be playing a game in London in 2013

More Sharing ServicesShare on facebook_likeSubmitted by Vito Stellino on June 28, 2012 - 5:22pm Vito Stellino's Blog Don’t be surprised if the Jaguars wind up playing a home game in London in 2013.

The odds seem to be good they will make the trip because New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft on Thursday said the league plans to play two games there next year, and the Jaguars have expressed an interest in playing in one of those games.

On a promotional tour in London this week for his team’s Oct. 28 game there against the St. Louis Rams, Kraft said, “It is the intention of the NFL owners to get two games here, starting next year.”

The Rams-Patriots game is the only one the league is playing there this season.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan said when he purchased the team that he was interested in playing a game in London. Mark Lamping, president of non-football operations, said Thursday the Jaguars are still interested.

“We’ve expressed an interest to the NFL in hopefully being one of those teams,” Lamping said. “We think it will increase the profile of the franchise, and Jacksonville can use it to market the city. What’s good for Jacksonville is good for the Jaguars.”

Khan indicated he plans to bring Jacksonville business leaders on the trip to attempt to attract foreign investment and business to Jacksonville.

The Rams are already committed to going to London for the next three seasons. Lamping indicated the Jaguars would probably be willing to make multiple trips to London, but he said that would be up to the league.

By having nine home games instead of 10 in Jacksonville, it would reduce the cost of season tickets, although some fans wouldn’t want to lose a home game.

Former Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver rejected the idea the idea of going to London, mainly because he feared it would spark speculation that the Jaguars could eventually move there.

Kraft said he favors putting a franchise in London, although he said it won’t be the Patriots.

“I personally think we should have a franchise in London, and that is something I’m going to push for…before this next decade is out, I hope we have a team there. I think that would be right for the NFL, and this fan base [in London] has proven they deserve it. I think we’re starting to tap out in the United States.”

Lamping said the Jaguars aren’t a candidate to move because they are working hard to be successful and plan to be a successful franchise

Lamping declined to give out figures on the Jaguars' season ticket sales this year, but said they are ahead of last year’s numbers. He also said their goal isn’t to sell out the stadium on a season ticket basis because they want to have tickets available for individual games and group sales.

Per CBSsports, the blackout rule has been tweeked for this season:

QuoteThe 2012 season will also include less stringent blackout restrictions. The owners passed a resolution that will now allow for games to be televised in local markets even when as few as 85 percent of tickets are sold. Again, Clark has the details.

Under the new rule, each team has more flexibility to establish its own seat-sales benchmark as long as it is 85 percent or higher. To discourage teams from setting easy benchmarks, teams will be forced to share more of the revenue when they exceed it.

Because of slumping stadium attendance, long-standing season-ticket waiting lists have disappeared in several cities. Full-season tickets are readily available on the websites of 20 of the league's 32 teams.

The blackout rule is outdated anyhow. A threat of a blackout is not how you want to go about building a strong fan base.

Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?
