Yeah, I know, but UEFA quals start after Euro 2012. I guess there's not a huge difference between June and September, but it just seems really soon. Especially as the CONCACAF Gold Cup will take place after the World Cup qualifiers start.

To be honest, I don't really follow the USA (as they don't televise the matches over here). I was a bit surprised to see the USA didn't manage to qualify for the Olympics.
Isn't Gold Cup just in odd years?  We lost to Mexico in 2011?  Next GC should be in 2013?  2012 summer is CONCACAF WC qualifying, 2014 is WC?

Yes, I believe the Cup is in 2013. Which, come to think of it, wouldn't allow enough time to hold qualifiers after the end of the cup and the beginning of the world cup.

* No change @ Ticketmaster's site.

If that's true, we now probably have even less of a chance of seeing our best starting XI given the close proximity to the DC game.

I hope not - I love the prospect of a Saturday night game under the lights...

fsquid

I'm actually ok with that since Monday is a holiday.

Traveller

Well, Saturday night in Jacksonville is technically Sunday morning in the UK.  8)

FWIW, official site still shows Saturday: http://www.ussoccer.com/Schedule-Tickets/2012/120526-US-Men-vs-Scotland.aspx

FWIW, as of this AM, the team has not made any changes to their travel dates

Seems a big change to make 3 weeks out, people have made travel plans etc.

copperfiend

I haven't heard about any potential move either. I would also be surprised at this point.

Tartan Army confirms that the date is NOT changed, as someone suspected the confusion was due to the game being played after midnight Scottish time.

Anyone heard an update on ticket sales?  I haven't heard anything since 20,000 awhile ago.

Well, some of my friends that were dragging their feet are on board now - so at LEAST 20,003 now.....(seriously, I'm anticipating 30-35k).

Would be nice if the lower bowl was filled or close to filled, nothing worse than an empty stadium, especially on TV

I don't think 30,000+ is out of the question. Those kinds of numbers would guarantee future games here in Jacksonville.

Here are the latest numbers that I could find:

QuoteU.S. national soccer team updates and Juergen Klinsmann Q&A about roster selection process
By Steven Goff
Updated ticket sales figures for upcoming U.S. national team matches:

Men

Scotland friendly May 26 in Jacksonville: 25,500

Brazil friendly May 30 in Landover, Md.: 43,300

Antigua World Cup qualifier June 8 in Tampa: 5,800

As you can see, we are absolutely destroying Tampa in attendance!

Over 25,000 at this point is great for Jacksonville. We're a last minute kind of town, so I think we'll be over 30,000 by game day.

Read somewhere this week that Klinsman would announce the roster for the 3 friendlies and first 2 WC qualifiers on the 25th. Although he'll obviously have to announce who is coming to camp before that. Klinsman is not going to screw around with World Cup qualifying, this will be the 'A' team, with a few younger faces mixed in.
