I don't think 30,000+ is out of the question. Those kinds of numbers would guarantee future games here in Jacksonville.

Here are the latest numbers that I could find:

Updated ticket sales figures for upcoming U.S. national team matches:

Men

Scotland friendly May 26 in Jacksonville: 25,500

Brazil friendly May 30 in Landover, Md.: 43,300

Antigua World Cup qualifier June 8 in Tampa: 5,800

As you can see, we are absolutely destroying Tampa in attendance!

Over 25,000 at this point is great for Jacksonville. We're a last minute kind of town, so I think we'll be over 30,000 by game day.

I would expect the game in DC to outdraw our game because of the opponent but it's closer than I thought. I think with walk-ups, we will get over 30k and have a nice showing. I would expect a return engagement.

USMNT will be hosting a free, open-to-the public training here in JAX on May 25th. Details and RSVP here: http://www.ussoccer.com/Community/Public-Training.aspx

I'm going. And looking at the start time, it would be a good event for downtowners leaving work. Free parking too.

Have we heard anything about the potential lineup yet?
From the Washington Post - you won't have to wait too long, Klinsmann will announce the foreign based camp roster tomorrow, MLS players on Sunday

"Juergen Klinsmann will introduce the U.S. training camp roster in two stages: foreign-based players May 15, MLS players May 20. He will set a 23-man list on May 25, the day before the Scotland friendly in Jacksonville. The Americans will also face Brazil, Canada on June 3 in Toronto, Antigua in a World Cup qualifier June 8 in Tampa, and Guatemala in a qualifier June 12 in Guatemala City." http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/soccer-insider/post/brazil-announces-roster-for-friendly-vs-us-national-soccer-team-may-30-at-fedex-field/2012/05/11/gIQAUdjwIU_blog.html

In August a youth soccer tournament may be coming to Jacksonville - over 100 out of town teams would be here. IF, that is, our fields are in good enough condition. That is a big IF. Presently, the City, which is supposed to maintain the fields, does a less than acceptable job of it. (I'm sure this is another problem due to our supposed lack of money. I say "supposed" because I recently heard a statistic that our millage rate is the lowest in the state for counties of a certain size.)

It the forum on a contribution from Farah & Farah, a quoted letter from Mayor Brown also mentions a large commitment from Terrell - Hogan toward youth activities. Perhaps that money can be used to get our local soccer fields up to snuff, assure the tournament comes here and not to St. Johns County, and brings with it the revenue from all the hotels rooms and meals that the players and their families would consume.

From today's WashPo, an update on ticket sales.  I think somewhere between 30 and 35 thousand is going to be about right.

Ticket sales update for U.S. national soccer team matches
By Steven Goff

Here are the latest numbers for five U.S. national team home matches.....

MEN

Scotland friendly May 26 in Jacksonville: 28,000

Brazil friendly May 30 in Landover, Md.: 46,000*

Antigua World Cup qualifier June 8 in Tampa: 6,750

If you are talking about the Jacksonville Fury tournament, some of those games are probably going to wind up in St. Johns County regardless.

The qualifier in Tampa has really only sold 6750 tickets?

The asterisk next to the ticket sales in DC is because they sold 7k premium seats on Living Social for a steep discount. Those tickets are not included in the figure.

I have noticed that the Tampa area is not what it used in regards to sports. The support down there has not been what is used to be. Heck they dont even support the Rays or the Bucs, let alone supporting any other type of sporting even. And this is a small event. I wonder whats going on down there. I know someone is going to lash out and say Im wrong, but this is what I have observed.

I went last June for a Gold Cup group stage double header, the game the US Men lost to Panama.  There were maybe 20,000 people there, maybe 1/2 rooting for Panama.  I'm surprised they've sold so few, but I guess Antigua isn't much of a draw.  Tickets are more expensive than they are here as well.

Sasha has indicated on his twitter feed that he will not be included in the US team this summer.

Ajax

The Washington Post is saying that we've sold 28k tickets so far.

Yeah, I heard that about Sasha.  Any details?  Not sure what that guy has to do to get a call-up from Jurgen.  He's been playing a lot (and very well) for Anderlecht according to all the reports, and they just won the Belgian league.

I wonder if Clint is going to make it to the Scotland game - he didn't play this past weekend because of a groin strain or something.

Scots have announced their roster, very happy to see Kenny Miller is on the team.  I love his game, hope he gets good minutes, I love watching his speed on TV, must be fantastic in person.

US will announce who is being called up from International leagues this afternoon.  MLS on Sunday.
