I've heard a rumor that Pizza Palace at Margaret and Post is going the way of the Dodo to be replaced by a 7-11. any meat to that rumor? Or did I miss some major post somewhere?

I heard there will be a fight over parking issues...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

I could see that. The Pizza Palace in San Marco has better food quality anyways.

Well, it would definitely liven up the intersection. Right now the "#Occupythetropicalconveniencestore" train kids and the bums cruising through to get malt liquor at the shell are the only ones there on a consistent basis.

Its about a block from my house and my friends and I gave up on that place a long time ago. The food was always nasty. Id much rather another restaurant though. That would be one huge 7-11.

I would rather see 7-11 take over the convenient store across the street on the same corner.

That would have to be a really small 7 Eleven.  The lot and building are very small and there is another convenience store right across the street.  7 Eleven should take over that one.   It's a smoke filled dump.

The food at that Pizza Palace sucks. Only time I go is for half off slices between 3-5. Even then, it's one of those "I immediately regret this decision" meals. I'd take a 7-11 there. Hopefully it would put the tropical food store out of business. That place has always weirded me out.

Completely agree, but the title of the thread is essentially saying if pizza palace goes, 7-11 moves in. I'm all for a Thai place, Indian, Vietnamese...anything different. Hell, even retail.

Plus that!  A Thai place like Tuptin would be a great addition to the neighborhood.  We already have plenty of pizza places around, maybe too many.

Turns out that Tony Slieman is the one working with 7 Eleven to find sites.  There have already been rumors of 7 Eleven going into a couple places that turn out to be bogus.  Maybe they don't like his suggestions.

With his fingers in the pie there's no telling what sort of stuff is going on.

Strange that Sleiman would want to set up competition to another Sleiman store, Tropical Foodmart, across the street. Perhaps Tropical is a little too exotic - not very mainstream.
