Please some team (besides the Jags) pick that dude up, I'm SO sick of everything Tebow! Eighty-five percent of all of the "Gotta have Tebow maniacs" aren't even Jags fans anyway. I'm REALLY looking forward to all of yall annoying Gator fanatics to boo Gabbert when he throws his first incomplete pass, and chant TEBOW, TEBOW, TEBOW! ::) That's the main problem right there! I'm serious thinking about not renewing my season tickets if we pick up the human three-ring circus; I'm probably just talking now in the heat of the moment outta frustration, but it's crossing my mind.

lol I kinda feel bad for Gabbert...

I am not a fan of Tebow but he would be a smart pick up for the Jaguars. Definately put some rear ends in the seats. He could run the wildcat and be a contributor around the goal line with MJD back there you would have a hard time keeping us out of the end zone.

The part everyone is not looking is what if this backfires on us? What is Tebow IS a complete bust as everyone suspects? Then we are stuck with having the QB carosel for years to come. Not to mention a fan would over there heads in anger and fustration. We would have a serious problem. It would split the fan base (Tebow followers vs real Jags fan) and it would cause plenty of uproar wth everyone calling for the franchises head and Khan getting a bad reputation because he had time to make one. We need stability at QB. Until we fine that, we are not ever going to have the success we want. The QB merry go round has to stop somewhere. But I guess all this for the sakes of selling tickets to a bunch of people who care nothing about the Jaguars? Yea its all worth the hassle

Duval Dude... I don't think this one would be a backfire. Seriously.   If Tebow's presence puts ticket buyers in seats , is this not what we need RIGHT NOW?   Can he be any worse than some of the players in the past?  I know it is a gamble.. I think it would be for many potential prospects for the team.   I personally think Tebow will end up delivering. For one thing he will be back home where I think he WANTS TO BE anyway!

I am optimistic about Tebow and think he would end up being a tremendous asset to the Jaguars .

I give this a day. Again, I'm betting we get him.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

I can't believe that some of you are ok with getting him just for the sake of short term ticket sales. We haven't had a blackout in 2 seasons. Yes, some of them came down to the wire, but the REAL fans stood up and made sure there were none.

Right now ticket sales are up and I think it's largely based on the excitement of the new ownership. Based on how our draft goes, there will probably be another surge in ticket sales. I don't think we are necessarily hurting for selling tickets right now. But why put yourself in the position of trying to develop TWO young quarterbacks. Blaine definitely has the higher ceiling between him and Tim. It's virtually impossible to try to devote time to two quarterbacks and have them reach their maximum potential. IF we get Tebow, we might as well trade Blaine for whatever we gave up for Tebow because we all know that Tebow will be the starting QB by the end of the season and not necessarily because he's the best QB on the team.

We are seriously acting an ugly girl who is desperate for attention and trying to find a prom date. Have we gotten that desperate that we considering doing "whatever it takes" just for ticket sells??? seriously???? Nobody is thinking about how this could blow up in our face. Which it can just in case you didnt know.

Do you guys ever think you're so entrenched in the statistics that you can't see the forest for the trees? Ever since the Manning to Denver story broke, nearly every major media outlet in the country has listed Jacksonville as the most likely and most logical landing point for Tim Tebow. Sportscenter. PTI. Around the Horn. Bill Simmons. The New York Times. Sportsline. The list goes on and on. All referring to Tebow to the Jags as the no brainer of the century. Vegas oddsmakers are putting their money on Jacksonville, because it just makes so much sense. Are hardcore Jags fans right on this one, and everyone else on the planet wrong?

Let me present the following two scenarios:

Worst Case Scenario #1:

1) We trade for Tim Tebow and slot him as our number three QB. The massive Northeast Florida Tebow fan base is happy that we acquired him, the haters are happy that he's not our starting QB, and we begin the season to perhaps the most national media attention the Jags have ever enjoyed. Before long, the Tebow fan base is loudly demanding that he be moved into the backup position, or even the starting QB position. Tebow starts, fails miserably, and is never heard from again. Gabbert is still young enough to recover. Nobody faults us for trying.

2) We pass on Tebow. He pulls off another miracle season with another franchise, leads them to the playoffs, and brings said franchise into the forefront of NFL attention and popularity, as he did with Denver last year. A sizable population of Jaguars fans are furious at missing a second opportunity at acquiring their hero.  Meanwhile, Blaine Gabbert flounders in his second season, running for his life in the pocket, getting sacked multiple times per quarter, and wearing the same defeated look on his face that he did for most of last season. As Tebow's new team rallies around him as their leader and talk (like Denver did) about how excited they are to play with him, Blaine Gabbert's offensive line doesn't even bother helping him off the field when he is sacked. The Jaguars are the laughing stock of the NFL for passing on a sure fire thing.

I have zero clue which scenario would play out, and anyone who claims to know is kidding themselves badly.

We just have no idea.

I do think though that the franchise recovers quickly from Scenario #1, and possibly never recovers from Scenario #2.

Regardless of what happens, this might be the most fascinating story of the last ten years for this franchise, and I'm enjoying the hell out of every development.

One thing's for sure, I truly believe it will take balls of steel for Khan to pass up on Tebow with all of the local and national pressure pouring on by the minute.

As I mentioned above, it could just as easily blow up in our face if we don't take him, he has another miracle season elsewhere, and Gabbert flounders.

Massively tough call, and one that I'm glad I don't have to make.

QuoteJACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The prodigal son may indeed be returning home.

Jacksonville native Tim Tebow, soon to be shipped out of Denver, supposedly says he wants to play in Florida.  And one of the teams in Florida reportedly is very interested in making that happen.

Michael Lombardi of NFL Network reports that the Jaguars have "serious interest" in trading for Tebow.

Given that G.M. Gene Smith is widely believed to be a non-believer in Tebow, it's safe to say that the interest comes from, well, on high.  New owner Shad Khan has said he would have drafted Tim Tebow in 2010.  Now, Khan has a chance to put his money where his mouth is.

And in turn to make a whole lot of money.

If the deal goes down, there will be plenty of awkwardness in the locker room.  Last week, Smith gave Chad Henne a $3 million signing bonus to serve as Blaine Gabbert's backup.  Two years ago (almost to the day) Henne made waves by proclaiming that Tebow "isn't an NFL quarterback."

An ownership-driven decision to force Tebow onto the roster also could drive a wedge between Smith and Khan.  Already, we've caught wind of rumors that the two men aren't clicking the way they should - and there's talk in league circles that Smith may not be around after the draft concludes.

If Tebow time comes to Jacksonville, Smith may not want to be.

KenFSU, Tim is NOT going to go to a team to become a starting QB and have a season like last year. The Broncos were in a VERY weak division last year. Generally you don't go 8-8 and WIN a division, especially not in the AFC South. Had they not won the division they would not have even been in the playoffs. Then they went on to beat a beat up Pittsburg team that played themselves because they overplayed the run all game. Reality set in when the Pats blew out the Broncos. More often than not Tebow would experience games like what the Pats put on him. 9 for 26 and 140 something yards passing.

And all the media outlets are saying Tebow is going to Jax because of ticket sales and the fact they harp on the false stereotype that we don't sell out our games and the dumb idea that we are going to take the tarps off. It's not because they feel Tebow will come here and be a great quarterback and succeed.

Honestly Ken if we don't take him then what happens? The Tebow continues to be upset with the Jags and we move on. I dont want a miracle season with a crappy QB, I want a winning team period in every aspect of the game. If Timmy had a better season that Gabbert last year, I would not even be typing right now. But the facts still remain was ranked dead last out of all QB's in the entire league INCLUDING ranking below Gabbert, he can barely complete passes, he runs like hell because he feels the pressure and has not idea what to do. The Broncos Defense and the kicker won those games. Not Tebow.

Im just sick and tired of this QB crap we have went through for almost a decade and Tebow is not the answer. If he fails, it will contine of the QB dillema in Jacksonville even longer. IF it happens I will try to be open minded, but it wont be easy.

PS. - everybody know Duvaldude is the one that is always talking about how the media is down on Jacksonville. And im not clamoring for Tebow so that should tell everyone something.
