I have eaten at Lat 30 three times, hung out at the bar, have seen a comedy show, been to a Seminole party and tried the bowling it is a good time.  I really think if you go to one of the shows and then do one of the other activities it is a good time.

Me and my friend went there tonight. Say what you want, but the food was excellent. My friend got the roasted half chicken and I got the pork chops. It well exceeded my expectations. The only complaint I have is that there are no drink specials. The waitress stated that has been a big complaint, so this month they had a drink of the month menu, and the drinks on the menu were 6.00.

Wow - I'd say that they're doing well - adding a parking garage on Philips.

Yeah, the parking is awful but it's a great spot. We had a corporate outing there last fall and they went all out for us. And the food has been very good everytime I have been.

parking is only bad there on Friday and Saturday nights....and I was just there this past Sat. night and found parking without too much difficulty.

now imagine what would happen if we had a real transit system and our urban form was designed right....who cares that this thing isn't downtown....its across the street from a major regional shopping mall and adjacent to tracks (read commuter rail).....and with proper urban design, walkability in this area wouldn't be "out of the question"

bottom line....building a garage is a sad sad commentary on our collective priorities!

Well I valet when I go there because thats the only way Ive found parking the three times I have went. . The first time I went I drove around helplessly until I found a parking sport bordering Taco Bells property and I was afraid my car would get towed. (but it didnt)

So now we should have trolleys out to the Avenues?

Who said anything about trolleys?  That whole area would be prime for TOD that could benefit greatly from a SE commuter rail line.

There is free valet so I would say it is the easiest parking in town.

So, now we should run a commuter rail line to the Avenues.  And folks think the people mover was a waste of money.

There is the mindset that got Jacksonville to where we are today!!

If you ran light rail from downtown all the way to say 210, you would stimulate TOD (Transit Oriented Development)
which increases density and in turn the tax base.  Also how much would traffic improve in that area if everyone didn't have to drive to get there.

With bus service that is complementary to the LRT you could reduce the commute in one of the busiest areas of town.

Now this is just my humble opinion, but I am there are other posters here who agree with my thoughts and probably can add more technical opinion and data to support it.

Great.  How much would that cost?

Great.  How much would that cost?

How much would it cost to widen Phillips Ave 2 more lanes?
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Why would you do that when 95 runs parallel to it?
