Businesses/Corporations can make a difference in Springfield!

Springfield's transformation is almost complete. SPAR has identified 3 areas that still need a bit of work; they are:

- Commercial Corridor Revitalization
- Hogan's Creek Parks Rehabilitation, and
- Residential Maintenance & Security

SPAR has been approved as an eligible sponsor in the Community Contribution Tax Credit program which allows local area businesses to make donations to these 3 programs, and use 50% of the donation to offset their sales/use or corporate income tax liability. This is a way for companies with charitable hearts to double  the value of their charitable contributions -- same dollars leveraged to do more in our ever-evolving community!

I will try to attach a pdf that gives more information about how it works and how your company can make a difference. This would also be a great program for employees of any company that offers a company match of charitable contributions as the company could offer a 2 to 1 match! Ex: employee donates $1,000, company donates $2,000, but with CCTP offset, company's net contribution is an equal $1,000.

totally cool.  i guess the residents of springfield that frequent the spar sponsored forum should start looking over here to get info regarding springfield since i didn't see it posted on the spar forum.

I posted this after hours yesterday, and planned to put on SPAR this a.m., but my schedule hadn't permitted it yet. I'll get to it as soon as I can.
