You can bet it is going to heat up. Khan wants to sell tickets and like it or not Tebow will sell tickets in this market. NOw, I support the Jags with or without Tebow.

Mr. Khan can sell tickets by implementing a weekly drawing in the Fall; limited to season ticket owners - for weekend cruises on his Überyacht!

Mr. Khan was just one WOKV this morning and was taking questions from callers. Of course someone called and brought up Tebow. Surprisingly Mr. Khan said he would have drafted Tebow had he been the owner at the time. I'm sure this will fan the flames of the Jaguars trading for Tebow. I don't think that will happen, nor would I want them to personally.

::) I wish people would get over that. I dont want him either. He is just okay. Other than being a media magnet and having the ability to inspire people, he has too many hang ups as a QB so far. Im glad we didnt.

I hope Khan is just pandering to the college fans. Not that they guy we got over Tebow, Alualu, has been a star, but he knows how to play his position and he performs consistently. You can't really say that about Tebow, at least not yet.

Plus our defense has improved dramatically since that time. In other words, you'd have to weigh how many college fans we'd attract to games with Tebow against how many others would stay home because we'd have lost even more games without our defense (and with a QB who leaned heavily on a strong defense).
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

I think he was just saying that off of a whelm. Had he actually know the facts regarding Tebow, and the Jaguars needs at the time, he would have made the same decision. However, if he is just pulling the leg of the college fans to get them to buy tickets, Im all for it!  ;D

Tebow probably would have fared worse had he played for JDR. They probably would have tried to force him into playing the offense we had been playing. John Fox was smart enough to build his offensive plans around Tebow. I think that was the big difference in the Broncos having a horrible year compared to the year they had.

And I think even had we not drafted Tyson, we would have still been a good defense this year. I think the real reason our defense was good this year was partly between Mel Tucker taking it over completely and the free agents we picked up. They've been able to rotate guys in and out of those DT positions all year. Pot Roast and Alualu both missed time this year I think.

Tyson didnt miss any time this season. He missed alot of practice though. Pot Roast missed I think 3 games. They were the beginning of our defense improvement.

Hopefully Khan doesn't have the final say in the draft room.

Yeah I won't deny he is a good player, though I still think he's not playing up to 10th pick 1st round value. But no sense of crying over spilled milk at this point. Let's just all hope for a good draft this year.

Again if Peyton Manning is healthy then that is who we should go for if he becomes available. He would be an instant/huge upgrade to our team. Also, Gabbert could learn from one of the best first hand so that in three or four years he could become the starter when Manning retires.
I would gladly take a Peyton Manning at 85% of what he was to any other choice currently/likely available.
That would be an unbelievable coup for the Jaguars.
Of course, this assumes a lot of unknowns: his health situation, Indy's intentions, would he want to come here, etc.
I say we start a web page that starts us in this direction: www.jagsforpeyton.com might do nicely.
That is my solution. Any thoughts? 8)

There's only one flaw in your logic, Mark, if Payton is healthy enough to play, I have a feeling he will still be a Colt.  I think he'll restructure his contract in a way that will insure just that.

Something along the lines of deferring the $28M lump sum payment until after he can be cleared to play - if he's cut for 'other than health' reasons, they would still be on the hook for the money.  It protects both both of them and allows the team to move into FA / Draft.

If you remember, Aaron Rodgers was a 1st round pick (although not first overall) and he sat for 3 years before starting a game.  There's no guarantee that either Luck or RG3 will make it at this level, and I think the Colts would be taking a huge chance by letting Payton go.

I just think Peyton is going to want to retire as a Colt. I doubt he'll pull a "Brett Farve" and go and play for a division rival. If he plays for someone other than the Colts, I think it would be someone outside of our division.

You know sports media is sad. I just read an article that said we told pot roast he is "too fat" and he can not succeed in the NFL if hes "too fat". When did ANY from the Jags camp say that? They talk to him about his weight, and that was it. They are only looking out for his best interest. Hes a great player, but if he keeps his weight under control he probably would pick up speed and be even more effiecent. Then also, having to much weight on you can cause injuries. I love me some pot roast. They need to stop the madness.

Nah.  It was started here first by either Mel Tucker or Joe Cullen.
