I try to stay positive until the last second, but this game is over. This was probably the worst I've seen them. Defense was off tonight and offense was just... horrible. Gabbert continues to show no improvement and Lewis still hasn't done anything. I don't know what the defense was thinking, but they did not look like the 4th best defense. We need some serious help. We're about to give the Chargers their first win since October 9. Oh yeah, and the FG attempt that had the messed up snap... WHAT WAS THAT?! Simple mistakes like that shouldn't be happening. Thank you MJD for actually trying to win and thank you Cecil Shorts for getting that touchdown. The rest of team... Just a mess. I'm disappointed in the entire team.
you have to remember that the majority of the defense is out.  we got a bunch of guys from the practice squad in there.

Yeah our season is screwed. Our entire team is on IR. But I didnt expect anything anyways. I was hoping our defense could hold, but back ups collpased big time.  HOWEVER, guess what?? Cecil shorts caught the ball!!!! A TD pass at that! That actually made my night. !  Gabbert did ok tonight. Aside from one interception and a few incomplete passes, him and the receivers showed alot of improvement IN MY EYES. Gabbert made some good decision and receivers made some good cacthes. Of course it wasnt enough to win but hey.. we gotta take what we can get at this point  ;D

This has been happening all season so Im not sure what you expected.  The team in an otter mess and none of this will be corrected anytime soon. (until the post season). If we keep complaining its like beating a dead horse. So this is actually my last post until the next game because the posts in here become redundant.

Oh ok I just looked at the list. I didn't know it was that many key players on the list. I was just used to better defense than that.

Maybe it was the reporters (I had to watch it on TV) that made me upset about the game. They kept talking about Tebow and how he was so good and how the other rookie QB's were doing so good and then they said gabbert only throws short passes. I was just upset in that post. I'm ok now. I'll just say this: Hopefully Gabbert will continue to improve so we can have a good season next year.

May as well lose the rest and see if we can get in the suck for Luck race, or maybe even RG3. ESPN was all over the fact that Gabbert could very well be a bust.  They put up graph after graph telling how terrible he was compared to the other rookies. Yes, he put together a couple of nice drives with some dink and dunk passes, but we are terribly screwed right now. Before we are set back even another year,  we need another QB. Lucky for us, not allot of money has been invested in BG. The talent level on this team minus MJD is atrocious, period.

Indy has Luck all wrapped up. They're not going to win a game this year.

oddly enough that somewhat pleased me.

It was obvious that the Jags weren't going to win....and in the wonderful world of Fantasy Football (which yes, has ruined the real game),  Rivers is my QB....I figured he had done just enough for me to win, but my opponent has Scobee (who I dropped earlier this year because the Jags didn't give him enough scoring opportunities)....had Scobee made the kick, I would have needed Philip to drive down the field one more time.

So, while I didn't make the playoffs this year, at least I ended on a 4 game win streak...no Suck for Luck campaign on my team :)

The real tragedy is that we'll never know how good Gabbert could have been if he had a full offseason and training camp and a year on the sidelines learning the professional game and offensive system from a veteran QB. The Jags may very well have ruined him and his confidence for life by putting him into such a high pressure situation before he was ready. Hell, at this point, unrealistic or not, make a play at bringing in McNabb or Favre to start for a season or two and mentor Gabbert. What's the worst that happens? They say no? I really feel like we're approaching an emergency, point of no return situation with Gabbert here. If the rest of the season plays out like the first 12 games have, he may be too far gone to be recovered.

actually Gabbert's stats weren't that bad last night...save for the first play of the game when he had happy feet and a few throws into the ground, he looked ok

It is true that statistically, this was his best game. He actually compelted more than half his passes, but they were all very short passes that I probably could have made. I think his longest pass play was 17 yards. It doesn't look like Gabbert gives his receivers enough time to get where they need to be for a long pass. He either starts running out of the pocket way too early or throws it into the ground, or just gets sacked.

kells904

When you see Gabbert throw the ball in the dirt, put the pass behind/over the receiver/at the receivers' feet, it becomes harder to gloss over his pedestrian stats.  When he's running away on almost EVERY pass play, that too is hard to overlook.  I don't care about the INTs or occasional over/underthrow, but these incomplete passes look freaking awful, no other way to say it.  I'm not calling him a bust, but he certainly DOES look spooked.  However, what QB could succeed in this system?  The offense started its downward spiral at the tail end of LAST year, and has been boring ever since.

Yeah he actually was very good this game. I dont have any complaints about him actually. Our defense is just plaguae with injuries and it showed last night. Had we had our Dline weve had all this year, we could have won with 14 points  ;D
