How should I deal with an obvious "pill mill"

At the end of the service road on Southside Blvd, right next to Tulsa Welding School is "Southside Medical Center"
Every day I drive by this place, and 3-4 out of 5 days a week there is a long line of people coming out of the door and into the parking lot.  I see out of state license plates (just today I saw Tennessee and Virginia, along with Florida license plates with St Johns, Nassau and Flagler county plates.) The parking lot is littered with cars that seem to just barely make it into the lot, but right next to these shitty cars there is usually a BMW, Lexus and an Escalade. I've seen car wrecks in this parking lot, and "patients" getting in arguments with the Welding School students.  The picture below was taken today at about 10:15 am, and its a little blurry due to me having to zoom in with my cell phone.  This picture shows about 10 people coming out of the door, and as I drove by I looked inside and the place was filled to capacity.  What does everyone suggest I do?  Its terrible these pills are handed out like candy, killing people every day, and yet marijuana is treated as if it was placed here by satan himself.

Moral questions aside, let the Feds do what they're paid to do: protect and serve. Moreover, if YOU know it's a pill mill, then the 5 cops who drive by everyday do as well. Assuming they're doing their job, this place will get popped sooner or later.

Yeah, these places all eventually get caught and are restarted elsewhere. The pillmill across from memorial absolutely wrecked the other medical offices that shared the building. I'd imagine the arguments with the welders probably comes the addicts breaking into their vehicles because that was a huge problem over at memorial, that and they'd hang out in the parking lot and very aggressively ask for money.

I would like you to not take pictures while myself and 4 other 'friends' go inside, get our much needed medication and sell it down the road a $1/mg.

After I'm done, I'll PM you and you can continue to photograph and report.

BTW, do you know a good coke dealer anywhere nearby?  Tell him I've got cash.

I think this is a crying shame, especially if Dr. Laski is still running the place. He was my family care doctor for a loooonnng time growing up, helped me get my juvenile asthma under control, and was very considerate and thoughtful. A google search shows that he's now a "suboxone" prescribing doctor. Suboxone is a drug for opiod dependence. He may just be prescribing to junkies. I like to think he's better than that.. I hope.

The cranky and travel weary junkies vs the blowtorches; Something is telling me that's definitely not a good mix. I had to LOL at "Shitty cars that barely made the lot".

The only way to do something about it is to vote someone into office in Tallahassee who can change the laws that dictate the business. Florida is one of the most lenient states towards fraudulent prescribing practices, which is why people drive from all over the county to come here for their supply. Jacksonville "Where Florida Begins" is lucky to be one of the first stops in the state so we see more than our fair share of them.

Report it to JSO. They have at least 1 guy dedicated to pill mills and prescription drugs. I've seen him speak and he welcomes any tips he gets. Just be sure to be quiet publicly about the whole thing because JSO could have an existing investigation set up and you wouldn't want to blow that up.

Don't automatically assume that someone else will report it or that the authorities will find out. I'm in the middle of blowing up a statewide insurance fraud scheme that involves an attorney in South Florida. Yet nobody else has reported it and the insurance companies were clueless. They were shocked with the info I gave them and have been treating me like Batman. JSO might not know for sure about this place.

The Dayman would report it to the JSO...great user name btw

I just joined this forum and noticed my name as the subject of the initial post. First let me state that the post was created in late 2011. It is now early 2016. Southside Medical Center is , and has been operating as a medical office without ever being closed by any authorities for any reason whatsoever. And secondly, and most importantly, we have NEVER been, acted as, or appeared in any way shape or form to be a Pill mill or even close to a pill mill. We are, and have been, since the inception of the Pain Clinic Registration requirement in Florida been registered as Pain Clinic number: 554. Each and every year we have passed the Pain Clinic Inspection with flying colors. We have been congratulated for our thoroughness and record keeping for all our patients who are seen who suffer from chronic pain. I have maintained my DEA license active since since I received my Florida license to practice medicine since 1981 with no restrictions on that DEA license. I have also received and maintained my DEA license to prescribe Buprenorpine, also known as the brand Suboxone, that is used in drug withdrawal programs throughout the United States. I am a member of the American Academy of Pain Management, the American Pain Society, The American Society of Pain Educators, The American Association of Review Officers and the Florida Academy of Pain Medicine. I am a certified Medical Review Officer as well.
Nightman_Cometh posted that he has seen cars with several Florida license plates in the parking lot, including St. Johns, Nassau and Flagler.  As I reminder, I have been in practice since 1981 and maintain many loyal patients from my practice in other areas of Florida. Apart from that many choose to come to our clinic because of our excellent care and caring for all of our patients. We are also very close to the Georgia border and many Georgia residents will come to us for their medical needs because we are actually closer to them then the larger Georgia cities. Also many of our longterm patients, former Florida residents,  continue to see us even after moving across the Georgia Border.

It is very easy to make assumptions, and cast aspersions against someone from a long distance "look."  Nightman_Cometh stated that "at about 10:15 am...the picture shows about 10 people coming out of the door."   Think about that statement. "coming OUT of the door." We open our doors at 10:00 AM-10:15 AM. We also ask our patients to come 10-15 minutes early to fill out paperwork.  These people are waiting to GO INTO the clinic for the morning appointments!  It is not unusual, in fact it is most common that persons with appointments between 10 and 11:00 will arrive upon opening, often with a family member so what Nightman_Cometh sees, that being a total of 6 persons near the door are waiting for us to open the doors. As you can see, even in his blurred picture, is a couple holding hands walking TOWARDS the door, not leaving it.

If anyone has any questions about how our clinic operates they are welcomed to come in and ask us for the clinic tour.  Thank you.
