The Neighborhood Garden is an organic produce co-op that meets at the RAM parking lot 7pm each Thursday.  Everything is top quality and certified organic.  Everyone goes home with a bag of organic fruits and veggies for $33.  This weeks bag has:
4-5 Gala Apples
Bananas
Green Seedless Grapes
2-3 Red Plums
Green Leaf Lettuce
1-2 Zucchini
2-3 Green Peppers
2 Tomatoes
Cremini Mushrooms
Green Kale
5-7 Yukon Gold Potatoes
1 lb Carrots
A lot of organic produce for $33!
You can go to facebook.com/theneighborhoodgarden for a coupon for $3 off your first order.  It equals about a 15-25% savings on organics each week.  Go to jaxorganic.com to place your order.

These are local growers and gardners?

Everything comes from Global Organics.  They are located in Sarasota, Fl.  They are the same suppliers that Publix uses.  Local would be preferred, but there are very few certified organic farms in Jacksonville.  The ones that are here can't handle the demand.   So even though it's not Jacksonville local, we are supporting farmers in our state.

That's great. Are you working with locals to help you with supplies later? Organic is a complex situation and idea and it take time and money to go completely organic. I know some say local could be statewide but local to me means within 50 miles or so..but i love the idea. Have you thought of doing something that actually helps local growers and not the large  growers down state? Are your suppliers individual growers or are they corp. owned farms?

Where are the bananas coming from? (I mean actual location)
